Trump lashes out at Wall Street Journal for failing to celebrate the ratings of his virus briefings
Not even the outbreak of a deadly pandemic can dissuade Trump from his tawdry obsession with the media and “ratings.” As the coronavirus continues to ravage the country, the president seems incapable of focusing on the crisis at hand and insists on engaging in his petty pet feuds.
Earlier today, the president tweeted out an attack on The Wall Street Journal because he believes the publication “always ‘forgets'” to praise the high ratings of his coronavirus press briefings. He touted them as “through the roof” and claimed that these pressers are the only way for him to “escape the Fake News” and get his “views across.” The tweet concluded with him lazily labeling WSJ as”Fake News!”
As anyone who has actually seen these press conferences can attest, they contain very little useful information and invariably devolve into glorified Trump campaign rallies peppered with blame-hurling and self-aggrandizing tirades.
The Wall Street Journal always “forgets” to mention that the ratings for the White House Press Briefings are “through the roof” (Monday Night Football, Bachelor Finale, according to @nytimes) & is only way for me to escape the Fake News & get my views across. WSJ is Fake News!

Yesterday, Trump blasted out a similarly ratings-obsessed tweet aimed at the media and the Democratic Party. He claimed that Dems have “gone absolutely crazy” over his “Presidential News Conferences.” While liberals have most certainly not gone “absolutely crazy” in response to the president’s regularly incoherent coronavirus press conferences, the president himself seems to be becoming increasingly unraveled.
Events which should offer him the opportunity to assure the country that his administration is doing everything to fight the pandemic are now little more than excuses for him to scream at reporters and unconvincingly insist that he’s doing a great job leading the country.
The president went on to criticize Democrats for wanting him to stop giving the conferences and accused them of hypocrisy since they previously pointed out he wasn’t “doing enough.” Of course, even with these deranged circuses that he passes off as press conferences, Trump still isn’t doing enough. His handling of this crisis has been completely botched from the beginning with his decision to dismiss the virus as a hoax. The country would be far better served if he stayed away from the cameras and relied on experts to instruct the public.
One tweet wasn’t enough for our venting child of a president, so he followed it up immediately with another tweet, this one bragging about how ratings for news stations carrying his conferences are “through the roof,” an incredibly calloused observation to make while people are dying en masse all across the country.
It’s not the first time he’s bragged about these numbers, but this time he actually complained that networks are getting these ratings from him for “$FREE” which would seem to indicate that the president wishes he could be making money off this lethal, ongoing disaster. If it wasn’t clear before: Donald Trump quite literally does not care if you or your loved ones live or die.
The Radical Left Democrats have gone absolutely crazy that I am doing daily Presidential News Conferences. They actually want me to STOP! They used to complain that I am not doing enough of them, now they complain that I “shouldn’t be allowed to do them.” They tried to shame…..

…the Fake News Media into not covering them, but that effort failed because the ratings are through the roof according to, of all sources, the Failing New York Times, “Monday Night Football, Bachelor Finale” type numbers (& sadly, they get it $FREE). Trump Derangement Syndrome!
