President Trump and his allies are desperate to get the economy back on track and pump life back into the one thing that he has to cling to as re-election looms, but perhaps we don’t need to worry too much if he goes through with leaving his merry band of narcissistic and incompetent morons in charge of the recovery efforts.
Bloomberg is reporting that the White House is considering making a post-virus economy “working group” to lead the nation in recovery efforts. This would be separate from the coronavirus response panel led by Vice-President Mike Pence and feature such familiar faces as Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and economic advisor Larry Kudlow.
Add your name to reject Trump & Republicans’ vile idea of sacrificing seniors’ lives to save the stock market!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Trump White House initiative without including the seemingly inescapable failchildren Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, who are somehow continually entrusted with major policy initiatives despite being infamous for their staggering incompetence and penchant for corruption.
One wonders if Jared Kushner will read some books about the economy and “get smarter about it” like he did when he advised the president that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was exaggerating the number of ventilators his state needed to save his citizens’ lives.
But given his affinity for dangerous conspiracy theories, his previous use of resources like his sister-in-law’s father’s Facebook groups when planning virus response, and the legal complaints filed against him for violating federal law, can we really trust him with rebuilding our economy in an efficient and humane manner?
