Trump reposts tweet from fan calling for firing of Dr. Fauci

It’s common knowledge at this point that truth-telling in the Trump administration can be a risky endeavor, especially when that truth (as it usually does) exposes the President to criticism of any kind.

The nation was sharply reminded of that regrettable and disgraceful state of affairs when the President reposted a tweet from one of his supporters calling for the firing of Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the leading experts on the White House’s coronavirus task force and one of the few sources of trustworthy information about the disease and its spread in the entire administration.

Fauci provoked the president’s ire on Sunday, when he appeared on CNN and admitted to host Jake Tapper that earlier efforts to slow the spread of novel coronavirus COVID-19 would have saved American lives.

Add your name to reject Trump & Republicans’ vile idea of sacrificing seniors’ lives to save the stock market!

The Trump administration infamously dragged their feet in taking any actions at all, deliberately slow-walking testing of virus patients while actively encouraging American businesses to sell medical supplies to China that soon became desperately needed to save the lives of Americans. As recently as February 28th, the president was telling rally attendees that Democratic criticism over the coronavirus response was their newest “hoax.”

Since then, the president publicly declared “I don’t take responsibility at all” in response to media questioning about the lack of adequate testing, and that callous arrogance has come to define his entire approach to a pandemic he has deliberately exacerbated.

When he’s not refusing to accept any responsibility for the thousands of deaths that his mismanagement has caused, he’s busy trashing the “fake news media” and starting petty feuds with anyone and everyone who dares to tell the truth about what’s going on in this country — and it looks like Anthony Fauci is set to be his next victim.

Sadly, it was only a matter of time before the good doctor clashed with the President, whose mind is so warped with narcissism he reportedly thinks Fauci owes him because Trump “made him famous” and spent the entire weekend calling up his buddies and asking what they think of him in a clear fishing expedition for firing justifications.

If Fauci does end up leaving the White House, our nation will be entirely without any trustworthy medical leadership in the midst of the worst public medical crisis since the 1980s AIDS pandemic, which incidentally was also bungled by a Republican President.
