President Trump may think he had the last laugh when he called prominent NeverTrump D.C. lawyer George Conway “Moonface” this morning in a furious tweetstorm that also dragged Conway’s wife into the fray, but it looks like he played right into Conway’s hands.
Donald Trump’s original Twitter outburst was directed at Conway and his fellow “NeverTrump” Republicans at the Lincoln Project over their latest attack ad, entitled “Mourning In America,” which correctly lays the blame for America’s horrifying coronavirus death toll on President Trump.
By choosing to respond to them so publicly and so forcefully, he’s made sure that everyone on social media will hear and see this ad. George Conway quickly picked up on this and replied to the president with a sarcastic petition to the president to attack his colleague Windsor Mann, who he says is feeling left out from the personalized insult-spree.
Dear Mr. President:
My friend @WindsorMann, who gave me the idea that we do a “Mourning in America” (not “Morning”) ad, is sad you didn’t rage-tweet at him. Could you take a moment from your busy day of abject self-pity to attack him? Many thanks.

Looks like the president’s barbs didn’t fall as deep as he wanted them to!
