Michigan’s AG claps back at Trump after he trashes her as “wacky do-nothing” in mask dispute

On Friday morning, President Trump sparked a new feud with the “wacky do-nothing” Attorney General of Michigan in defense of the Ford Motor Company, which came under fire for allowing him to wander around their factory without a mask on.

During yesterday’s visit to the Ford Rawsonville Components Plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan, President Trump did not wear a mask during his interactions with reporters and claimed that company officials told him he didn’t have to. He did admit he wore a mask earlier but “didn’t want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it.”

But his refusal to wear a mask during the press portion earned him the ire of Attorney General Dana Nessel, who declared that the president was not welcome in the state for refusing to wear a mask during a portion of his visit: “He is a petulant child who refuses to follow the rules. This is not a joke.”

This did not sit well with the President, who can be counted on like clockwork to issue formulaic attack tweets whenever he is publicly challenged by a woman. Trump accused A.G. Nessel of taking her “anger and stupidity” out on Ford and falsely credited himself with bringing manufacturing jobs back to Michigan.

Attorney General Nessel didn’t take this lying down, however, calling him out for targeting Michigan’s women leaders and taunting him with the all the lawsuits that Nessel and other Democratic Attorney Generals have filed and won against Trump and his administration.

Trump is obsessed with primitive conceptions of “strength” and “weakness,” only capable of viewing the world through the lens of a greasy caveman. It renders him incapable of accepting the tamest of criticisms from women or following basic common courtesies like wearing a mask out of shameful insecurity.

There’s a very good reason that states like Michigan are enforcing mask use regulations: they’re trying to save lives. For the President of the United States to so publicly flaunt their directives is extremely counterproductive, and Attorney General Nessel is absolutely in the right to chastise Trump for it. His inappropriate reaction is just more evidence that he is unfit for office and must be run out of office as soon as possible.
