Louis Gohmert’s daughter goes off on Trump after her father’s coronavirus diagnosis

As little sympathy as some of may have had for Congressman Louis Gohmert (R-TX) after he contracted COVID-19 following a period where he actively dismissed the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic and expressed his disdain for following the expert medical recommendations to wear a face mask and keep social distance, his daughter doesn’t have the choice to simply dismiss his foolishly asinine behavior and move on.

She only has one father and, however misguided and despicable his political stances have been, she doesn’t want to see him become the 156,001st person to die from the virus during the pandemic.

Gohmert’s daughter, Caroline, belies the adage that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

One look at her Twitter feed demonstrates why she has hidden her real last name behind a pseudonym as she pursues her career as an indie musician recording under the moniker BELLSAINT.

After all, no one would expect that this talented singer/songwriter who posts tributes to the departed civil rights icon John Lewis and to George Floyd is related to one of the most reactionary, Trump-supporting legislators in Congress.

After her father tested positive earlier this week, however, Caroline Gohmert decided to go public about her parentage and used his diagnosis to plead with the public to follow the advice of medical experts rather than a demented lunatic in the White House to beat back the disease that is now threatening the health and continued existence of her father.

Add your name to demand Congress reject Trump’s dictatorial call to delay the election!

While Congressman Gohmert is still asymptomatic as of press time, his future prognosis is obviously very much on his daughter’s mind.

That she points a finger towards Donald Trump’s cold-hearted lack of concern for how his incompetent policies, his failure to lead, and the example he sets affect his followers and political acolytes is not only unsurprising, it is completely appropriate in the current situation.

Bravo to BELLESAINT for having the courage to speak up when her own father won’t and for risking any street credibility she may have in the music community by revealing exactly who her daddy is.
