Trump is evacuated from press briefing room by Secret Service minutes into presser
Donald Trump’s White House press briefing was ended abruptly today mid-remarks. A Secret Service agent approached the president, whispered something in his ear, then quickly escorted him out of the room. Reporters and photographers were visible in the live stream rushing to the window to apparently view something going on outside.
Bloomberg’s Jennifer Jacobs reported via Twitter that Trump was “evacuated” and that an agent locked the briefing room doors from the outside. It’s as yet unclear what occurred, but there are unconfirmed reports on Twitter of shots being fired.
One angle of the moment appears to show the agent telling the president: “We have shots fired outside.”
