It is extraordinarily depressing to know that in the United States of America, white supremacy is so deeply ingrained in the minds of many that the simple demand by Black Americans to have their lives recognized and valued and protected is responded to with hatred and death threats by white Americans.
Some white Americans, particularly in the south, are so offended by the notion that it inspires them to threaten their countrymen in the most pedestrian of situations, like a man from Naples, Florida did to Twitter user @mishou_charleus yesterday.
The incident, which was recorded on video, shows a crazed man in a red hat screaming at a Black woman, holding up some sort of object, and then yelling “How much does your life matter? Show me how much your life matters to you right now…F**K YOU N*****R! That’s how much your life matters! NOTHING. F**CK YOU N*****R!”
He continues to scream slurs and expletives at the woman as she films.
I literally just got off the highway into Naples and this is the first thing that happens to me. Like this man could’ve killed me at a whole red light. FIND THIS MAN!! pic.twitter.com/bcDSQJ7nNp

It appears this is not the first time this racist monster has verbally assaulted Black drivers:

This kind of disgusting behavior is unfortunately all too common these days, as the president and his Republican allies have been working overtime to deliberately delegitimize and demonize the valid and morally righteous demands of the Black Lives Matter movement. Every race-baiting tweet that he sends out is more fuel on the fire, and he appears poised to double down on stoking the flames of racial animosity as he slips further and further in the polls.
Incidents like this show us why the Black Lives Matter movement and its goals are so important.
