Trump showers praise on GOP primary winner so racist she was banned from social media, ridesharing
While the NeverTrump Republicans crowding the Democratic Convention last night look at the way that Trumpism has entirely consumed the GOP and moan that “this isn’t who we are,” their primary voters continue to prove them wrong over and over again.
Last night, far-right extremist unrepentant Islamophobe Laura Loomer won her primary race in a landslide, handily defeating the more moderate Republicans arrayed against her. President Trump immediately took to Twitter to shower praise upon her and share Breitbart links about Loomer’s win.

You may remember Loomer as the absolutely insane crank who was banned from all ride-sharing services, mainstream social media platforms, and PayPal for her wildly offensive comments about Muslims.

Some of her more infamous stunts include handcuffing herself to the doors of Twitter’s New York offices, stage-rushing Shakespeare in the Park’s Trump-themed performance of Julius Caesar, and climbing the fence of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s house in order to carry around a large tent labeled “immorality.”
Loomer’s associates are a who’s who of the alt-right: virulent misogynist and Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes, Trump’s recently pardoned operative Roger Stone, pro-pedophile right-wing extremist Milo Yiannopolis, and Pizzagate conspiracists Jack Posobiec and Mike Cernovich. Calling herself a “citizen journalist,” Loomer is a regular contributor to Alex Jones’ InfoWars, promotes fake news, believes that the Las Vegas mass shooting was committed by ISIS agents, and was kicked out of a Florida courtroom for harassing the Pulse nightclub shooter’s abused wife, Noor Salman.
Thankfully, Loomer’s race is in a safe blue district, but the message is clear. This is the future of the Republican Party, and it is the logical conclusion of the bigotry and conspiratorial white supremacy that Republicans have been pushing since the 1960s. This is where the Republican Party was always going to go, and we cannot allow the “NeverTrump” Republicans responsible for Loomer and Trump’s rise to carve themselves out a space in a Democratic Party which is ostensibly opposed to everything Republicans believe in.
