Donald Trump likes to point to his nautically-oriented supporters as a key component in the “silent majority” of Republican voters that he believes will propel him to victory in the November presidential elections.
The intelligence of those MAGA-hatted fanatics who have organized boat parades brandishing Trump banners and loudly and proudly advertising their political persuasions was called into further question today with the news of a maritime mishap at a Trump boat rally at Lake Travis near Austin, Texas.
According to the CBS news affiliate in Austin:
“Multiple 911 calls have been made regarding boats being in distress, some sinking at the ‘Trump Boat Parade’ scheduled for Saturday afternoon on Lake Travis, according to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office. TCSO confirmed with CBS Austin that multiple boats have been sinking and are in distress,” the station reported.
Apparently, this wasn’t just an issue with a single unseaworthy ship as multiple reports of vessels in distress were received by the local officials.
“The sheriff’s office says calls have been made about boats along the entire route of the parade, some of the locations include: Paradise Cove, Emerald Point and West Beach,” the local CBS report added.
TCSO responded to multiple calls involving boats in distress during the Trump parade on Lake Travis. Several boats did sink.
