Trump tries to invite himself on to FOX and Friends every week and quickly gets rejected

One of the most embarrassing and really just sad aspects of the Donald Trump presidency is his irrepressible need for adulation from his cheerleaders in the right-wing media machine. One of Trump’s last few truly safe spaces is to be ensconced in the loving embrace of the drooling sycophants at FOX and Friends, and it appears he would like to spend as much time there as possible.

During his morning phone-in to FOX and Friends this morning, the President got to ramble on incoherently about the subjects of the day, including his desire to kill Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, how he had read Bob Woodward’s book and found it to be “boring,” how he fired General Mattis (who resigned), how they don’t have forest fires in Europe, and a slew of lies about President Obama’s administration.

But things got uncomfortable towards the end when Trump volunteered himself for a weekly call-in to FOX & Friends, which was eagerly accepted by human golden retriever Brian Kilmeade — but host Steve Doocy quickly poured cold water on that, saying that actually, FOX has committed to no such thing and that Joe Biden is also welcome on F&F — though why anyone else would risk the damage to their brain cells by associating with these people is beyond our comprehension.

However, you can pinpoint the exact moment where Kilmeade’s heart shatters into a million pieces at the thought of not being able to share the air with his Great Leader every week:

It just goes to show that even the president’s most ardent defenders aren’t quite yet willing to give him everything he wants — and even the merest semblance of rejection or disobedience is sure to send our thin-skinned president in fits of frustration and rage.
