In a preview of the chaos and voter intimidation that could erupt on election day itself, MAGA-hatted supporters of Donald Trump launched a protest outside an early voting polling place in Fairfax, Virginia this morning.
Anthony Tilghman, an award-winning filmmaker and photographer, was on the scene and posted videos of the Trump supporters’ illegal interference in the electoral process by blocking access to the polling place and intimidating any voters who did not share their enthusiasm for the failed Trump presidency.
Trump Supporters continue to protest at the #EarlyVoteVA site in Fairfax VA. They have to move voters inside because they are blocking the site for voters. #Vote #vote2020

It’s uncertain if any potential voters turned away after encountering the demonstration or if any declined to risk the increased chances of exposure to the COVID-19 virus when voters were forced to move to the confined spaces inside the polling place to wait to while avoiding the mostly maskless demonstrators.

Tilghman posted additional footage of the MAGA protestors impeding access to the polls, as well as an update about the dissolution of the demonstration once additional security was brought to the scene to break up the illegal electioneering and voter intimidation.

Others called for the demonstrators to be held accountable for an activity that violated federal election laws.
52 USC § 10101(b) —
No person…acting under color of law or otherwise, shall intimidate, threaten, coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any other person for the purpose of interfering with the right of such other person to vote or to vote as he may choose… https://t.co/tGNrHPtrfy

Was about to type the same thing. Hey Mr. President of "Law and Order," where is the National Guard? @realDonaldTrump

This isn’t a tactic used by groups that think they’re winning
Fuck em and vote

Wearing red hats and blocking the doors to the polls, probably.

Today’s activities by the Trump supporters do not bode well for a peaceful ballot process on election day.
All the more reason to vote early — either by mail or at an early voting location, depending on local regulations — and ensure that Joe Biden wins the election to toss Trump and his deplorables out of office and back into the minority where they can’t harm the majority of sane Americans.
Don’t be intimidated by these anti-democratic (with a small “d”) protestors. Vote to make them irrelevant again!
