Social media erupts in mockery after Trump “claims he feels better than he did 20 years ago”

On Monday afternoon, President Trump took to Twitter to brag that he feels “better than he did 20 years ago” after spending the weekend in the hospital battling COVID-19.

It is infuriating to see the president tell the public to “not be afraid of COVID” or let it “dominate your life” after 211,000 people have died thanks to his reckless approach to the virus— people who did not have access to the best healthcare and the most advanced drugs available like Trump does.

The immediate reaction from the public was that he was still feeling the effects of the powerful steroids he was given to battle his infection and lying through his teeth in order to make himself seem tough to the public. Dr. Conley’s announcement that he still “wasn’t out of the woods” yet is a clear indication that Trump is demanding he be returned to the White House and his favorite television as soon as possible, no matter how medically appropriate it would be to do so.

Social media immediately erupted in mockery of the “better than I did 20 years ago!” quote, using photos of some of cinema’s ugliest men to hit home just how absurd that statement is.
