Irreverent actor Sacha Baron Cohen created an iconic character with the release of his hugely popular film “BORAT: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan” — and now everyone’s favorite Kazakh has joined social media with a clear goal in mind.
On Friday, “Borat Sagdiyev” created his own Twitter account and immediately began using it to troll President Donald Trump. A major theme of Cohen’s works has been a razor-sharp satire of authoritarian despots — he even dedicated an entire film, 2012’s The Dictator, to the mocking of unhinged leaders like Idi Amin and Kim Jong-il — and so it is no surprise that Borat’s first dozen tweets were aimed squarely at Donald Trump.
Borat mocked Trump for his callousness towards the 210,000 Americans who died on his watch, the reckless joyride he took to wave at his supporters, and the irresponsible attitude that he’s exhibited towards the COVID-19 disease throughout the still very much ongoing pandemic.
Cohen has been hard at work during the Trump era, brilliantly exposing Republicans by setting up the perfect situations for them to do what comes naturally to them — which is to be racist, violent extremists.
He infamously posed as an Israeli military trainer and got now-former GOP lawmaker Jason Spencer to say racial slurs, chase him with his bare buttocks exposed and take a bite out of a sex toy meant to represent a terrorist’s genitals as part of his “Who Is America” show.

He also disguised himself as a wounded military veteran in order to prank former Tea Party matriarch and right-wing extremists Sarah Palin, who was furious when she discovered who it really was.
We can’t wait to see what else “Borat” has to say!
