Trump’s Sunday morning tweets inspire proposal for a new IQ test

Exclusive universities have been dropping the requirements to take standardized tests like the SATs or the ACT’s in their admissions evaluations, partially due to the difficulty in conducting the tests during the coronavirus pandemic, and partially due to accusations that the tests are culturally biased against the minority populations of the United States.

Here’s a suggestion. Why not use an applicant’s reaction to Donald Trump’s Twitter feed to determine whether they are a suitable candidate for success in the challenging academic environments of top colleges?

If they read items on the president’s feed and don’t immediately respond with the equivalent of “WTF!!!?!?,” they are not likely to prosper in an environment that requires critical thinking and native intelligence to survive.

One could easily use examples of Trump’s posts from this morning in any intelligence test or IQ evaluation designed to ferret out the gullible dullards from the pool of qualified prospective students.

Take this post where the president still insists that the only reason that the United States has had more cases of COVID-19 than any other major industrialized nations —  and even most of the still-developing countries as well — is because of the massive amount of testing that this country conducts.

If you can’t figure out what is so deathly wrong with the president’s invented claims in this tweet, sorry, but you won’t be attending college anytime soon.

Here are some other examples that require a bit more critical thinking and background knowledge to analyze in order to come to the conclusion that we have a president now panicking about his predicted electoral loss and willing to say anything to try to salvage it.

One would have to be aware that the supposed Hunter Biden laptop comes with a questionable chain of custody and links to Russian intelligence operatives to realize that this tweet is both a massive fabrication and borderline treasonous.

At this point, polling shows that the only thing that would likely prevent Joe Biden from assuming “the office of the President” would be a massive interference and electoral fraud campaign by Trump’s GOP political dirty tricks operatives.

If one presented this tweet to a prospective college applicant along with the question “What was the biggest political scandal in American history?”,  those destined for educational greatness would surely be able to pick “F) – The election of Donald Trump” as the right answer from among the multiple choices offered.

This tweet could perhaps be the basis for an essay question like “How far is Donald Trump willing to debase himself to get back in the good graces of the publisher of The New York Post, Rupert Murdoch who also controls The Wall Street Journal and Fox News and who has recently predicted that Joe Biden would beat Trump in a landslide.

Perhaps the final question on this reimagined entrance exam could be Trump’s last tweet of the morning so far today: “What is wrong with the following statement?”

The potential answers the test-taker has to choose from are:

A) “The Wall” won’t be finished anytime soon, since only five miles of new wall have built in the past threee and a half years of Trump’s term.

B) Mexico is definitely NOT paying for the wall.

C) Trump is running agianst Joe Biden, not Mike Bloomberg.

D) All of the above.

Frankly, this one is so easy that anyone who doesn’t pick “D) – All of the above” surely deserves to be rejected from the list of students to be admitted.

It could be that Donald Trump can make enough money from licensing his Twitter posts to the college testing companies that he will be able to finance the multiple prosecutions he will surely be the target of once his presidential immunity disappears.

For most of us, however, the only multiple-choice test we will face in the next few weeks is the one that asks us which man we want to vote for to be our next president.

There is only one right answer to that question: D — Joe Biden.
