Eric Trump isn’t exactly known as a towering intellectual but every so often he does something so staggeringly boneheaded that one can’t help but wonder how manages to lace up his shoes in the morning without assistance. Earlier today, he shared an image of rappers Ice Cube and 50 Cent wearing pro-Trump hats at a basketball game and called them “great, courageous, Americans!” Unfortunately for Eric, the photo was obviously photoshopped.
The other day it was a false claim about Biden owning a home he sold many years ago. Today, Eric Trump shares an obviously photoshopped pic of two rappers in Trump hats. Things will continue to get dumber. pic.twitter.com/EfAW03henG

The post was presumably prompted by 50 Cent’s seeming endorsement of Trump yesterday. The successful New York rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, urged his followers to vote for Trump because Jackson opposes Joe Biden’s proposed higher tax rates on the wealthy. In addition to being incredibly selfish on Jackson’s part, it served as yet another reminder that the modern GOP stands for little more than entrenching the plutocratic interests of the super-rich.

Ice Cube, real name O’Shea Jackson, was presumably misinterpreted as a Trump supporter by Eric due to the recent news that the rapper might work with the administration to help Black Americans. After the story broke, he clarified that he is not endorsing Donald Trump and is simply willing to work with whichever party is in power to help communities in need.
When Twitter users quickly pointed out that the image had been doctored, Eric deleted the tweet. Since he’s a Trump one can’t rule out the chance that he knew the image had been altered and simply wanted to spread misinformation, but the fact that he ultimately deleted it implies he was embarrassed and didn’t realize at the time of posting it that it was fake.
Ice Cube ended up retweeting Eric’s tweet, his comment making it abundantly clear how he feels about being painted as a MAGA supporter…
