With the election fast approaching, the pall of the coronavirus pandemic hangs heavy over the United States. The predictable consequences of the Trump administration and Republican governors’ horrifying decision to downplay the severity of the COVID-19 crisis and then give up on quarantine procedures before it was safe to do so are coming home to roost as a new surge breaks the previous record for new cases and daily infections could soon break 100,000 a day.
As a national disaster that he is responsible for exacerbating spirals out of control, all President Trump can do is complain about how unfair it is that the media is so focused on the greatest public health crisis since the AIDS crisis and the deaths of over 1,000 Americans every day.
The Fake News is talking about CASES, CASES, CASES. This includes many low risk people. Media is doing everything possible to create fear prior to November 3rd. The Cases are up because TESTING is way up, by far the most, and best, in the world. Mortality rate is DOWN 85% plus!

While on one level we have all known that Republicans are nihilistic monsters who couldn’t care less about the lives of their voters, it is still jarring to see the President of the United States respond to a worsening pandemic by dismissing the facts as a political attack by partisan enemies — as is his infuriating efforts to somehow portray this as a good thing!
Thanks to the neglect and deliberate slow-walking of the Trump administration, it took months for a proper testing regime to be set up around the country — and now that it’s revealing that the virus is ravaging its way through the population at a frenzied pace, Trump is spinning it as a positive and taking credit for it!
It is appropriate that he does so, since it is his fault that the virus was allowed to spread so widely. Diligent reporting has revealed that Trump knew how deadly the virus was and hid that information from the public while his son-in-law Jared Kushner spiked a testing plan because the majority of the COVID-19 victims were in Democrat-run states.
This appalling tweet from the President is a grim reminder of how important it is that we vote Donald Trump and his cronies out of office on November 3rd — and then prosecute them for their crimes against the American people.
