60 Minutes’ Leslie Stahl placed under 24 hour security after Trump interview brings death threats

It was only four short years ago that America was certainly much greater than it is today.

Before Donald Trump took office, journalists interviewing a president had little fear of receiving death threats from viewers incensed over their willingness to ask tough questions and push back on answers that defied credibility and generally accepted reality.

Now it’s a different story as CBS News has reportedly been forced to hire 24-hour a day security for 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl after one of her family members received a threat against their lives after the anchor’s interview with Donald Trump which was broadcast on the program on Sunday night.

As you may have heard, Trump was so displeased with the interview that he cut it short and walked out, expressing his displeasure by complaining furiously about how unfair the 60 Minutes correspondent was to him and petulantly ignoring copyright laws to post the unedited interview footage online before the program’s scheduled broadcast in an apparent attempt to sabotage the ratings of the show.

Typically for Trump, the move backfired and propelled 60 Minutes to it’s highest viewership since their interview with the president’s illicit paramour Stormy Daniels two years ago.

The news about the full-time guards assigned to Stahl was revealed by TMZ today, which reported these details, citing “multiple sources”:

“CBS is now providing Stahl with around-the-clock security due to a death threat made to the home of one of her immediate family members on the west coast,” TMZ writes.
