Trump issues bizarre, callous birthday message to his daughter Ivanka
President Trump’s disinterest in his children is legendary at this point in his presidency. In four years, he has barely acknowledged the existence of his son Barron, nor has he publicly appreciated the frenzied and desperate enthusiasm which his son Donald Trump Jr. defends him on social media. You wouldn’t have known that Tiffany Trump exists if it weren’t for her appearance at the 2020 RNC in a desperate attempt to get back on the Trump gravy train. Ivanka Trump is the only one of his children who he actually seems to “like,” a fondness which he expresses with extremely creepy and wildly inappropriate remarks about her physical appearance.
His bizarre relationship with his kids was put on full display on Friday when he issued a stunningly callous and garbled “happy birthday” message to his daughter Ivanka.
“Happy Birthday to our wonderful Ivanka. Now go back to work! November 3rd” tweeted the president.

Nothing could encapsulate the transactional nature of the relationship between Donald Trump and his children more than this tweet, in which he shows no sincere affection. Instead, we are treated to yet more evidence that Donald Trump is incapable of seeing any person as anything greater than their utility to him as he tells his daughter to “get back to work!” so that he might be re-elected and he might continue to hold power.
Donald Trump’s callousness to his kids goes back years. He reportedly did not want to name his first son after himself in case he turned out to be a “loser,” and took pride in his refusal to interact with his kids. “There are certain things you do and certain things you don’t…It’s just not for me” he said when asked if he ever changed diapers.
But even when they shed the diapers, Donald couldn’t be bothered to spend time with them. “He wasn’t really interested in the children until he could talk business with them…when they turned 21, I handed them over to him and said, ‘Here’s the finished product. You can take them from here” said his first wife and one of his alleged sex assault victims, Ivana Trump.
Then there is the awful story about how Donald Trump once slapped his son in the face for daring to wear a baseball jersey to a baseball game and about how Trump likes to joke that his idiot sons “were in the back of the room when God was handing out brains.”
Guess he doesn’t like Ivanka that much either!
