Now that the final day of voting has arrived in the 2020 presidential election, scattered reports of voter intimidation are beginning to emerge across the country.

One man parked his Trump flag-emblazoned car across from a polling place in Brooklyn, NY while insisting that he was more than the required 100 feet from the entrance and therefore within his right to harangue voters getting ready to vote.

The situation in Charlotte, North Carolina was even more frightening as a maskless man openly carrying a weapon lingered outside the voting site in a manner that many found extraordinarily menacing and led to the premature departure of a Democratic Congresswoman.

Voters may be particularly worried about intimidation this year after Donald Trump and his surrogates called on their followers “to go into the polls and watch very carefully,” as the president urged in a statement at the first presidential debate.

His additional weak-ass call for right-wing extremist group the Proud Boys to “stand-back and stand by” didn’t inspire any confidence that he wouldn’t condone political violence from his followers after an election that he has already falsely claimed is “rigged” and being stolen from him with supposed massive fraud in the unprecedented number of mail-in ballots.

If you do witness any other instances of voter intimidation while you are at the polls today, you do have recourse to help in stopping it.

Don’t let anyone or anything stop you from exercising your constitutional right to register your political opinions.

Get out today and vote for Joe Biden, come hell, high water, or the rampaging Republican elephants for Trump.

And think of additional songs to include in your celebratory playlist.
