Wrestling legend Dan Gable subtly dings Trump for walking out of Medal of Honor presser after inauguration question
As the end of the Donald Trump presidency rapidly and thankfully approaches, his behavior is no less mystifyingly crass than it ever has been before. “Does he sometimes forget where he is and what he’s doing, or is he just a self-centered jackass?” is a question that Americans have struggled with for four long years, and a recent display by Trump in the Oval Office has once again brought the issue up for debate.
While he was awarding the Medal of Freedom to legendary wrestler Dan Gable on Monday afternoon, Trump decided he’d had enough and just walked out, abandoning the award-winner to awkwardly face the media with no idea what was going on.
“He’s gone” was all Gable had to say.
This is unreal. Trump abruptly walked out of Dan Gable’s Medal of Freedom ceremony today, leaving Gable shrugging and at a complete loss about what he was supposed to do. pic.twitter.com/mOzlLn8poC

Maybe it had something to do with the question that a reporter shouted at Trump about the upcoming inauguration of Joe Biden that prompted him to cut and run, which Gable made sure to highlight when discussing the incident this morning with FOX & Friends.
Add your name to tell Trump: You Lost! Concede!
Dan Gable on Trump: "He's never made me mad. He might've walked out of the press conference yesterday a little bit perturbed with a couple newspaper people but I was having a great time."
Kilmeade: "He left you in the office by yourself with your family!"
Gable: "That's ok." pic.twitter.com/uzOlZoz8kR

This, of course, came after the president tried to use Gable’s professional career to boost his own ego and falsely claim that he was “2-0” in elections, even though everybody knows by now that is not the case. Gable wasn’t having any of it and made sure to dispel the president’s delusion that Trump could “take” him.
“Dan is a true GOAT,” Trump says.
I’m larger than you — think I could take you? the president asks Iowa wrestling legend Dan Gable.
“You’d have no chance,” Gable answers. pic.twitter.com/F603pqSDqO

Thankfully, we have only about a month left of this kind of embarrassing behavior from the President of the United States. Soon, we can once again rest assured that all the functions of the presidency — from the most important tasks like coordinating a vaccination campaign and the most pedestrian like the awarding of medals — will be handled with the competence and decorum that the office demands.
