Trump says Biden “lost badly” in delusional new Fox News interview

Donald Trump’s relationship with Fox News has been tumultuous since the cable news network called the Arizona presidential race for his opponent Joe Biden on election night when other, more cautious, networks were still keeping the state in the too close to call category.

Since then Trump has attacked Fox News on social media and directed his followers to change the channel to start watching the even more right-wing extremist coverage on the up-and-coming reactionary news channels OAN and Newsmax.

Still, the lame-duck president needs all the help he can get in his futile post-election fight to reverse the will of the American electorate, so — with a few Trump loyalists, like Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, and others, still touting his agenda on air — he granted an interview to Fox and Friends host Brian Kilmeade on the sidelines of the Army-Navy game at West Point yesterday in a segment that aired on Fox News this morning.

If Trump was worried that Fox wouldn’t be as supportive of his attempts to continue to gaslight the nation with his outrageously false claims about election fraud that have been repeatedly disproven in court, he needn’t have been.

Kilmeade allowed the president to lie shamelessly and unchallenged throughout the interview, including with a recycled old falsehood that has been fact-checked as grossly overexaggerated time and again.

Funny how Trump thinks that there is something unusual about betting companies no longer allowing bets on a race after it is over. No wonder he failed as a casino operator.

Trump’s ability to calculate betting odds is likely as bad as his overall mathematical skills as evidenced by his failure to grasp that the 74,223,755 votes he received is a lesser number than the 81,283,495 votes cast for Joe Biden. The same with his 232 electoral votes as compared to Biden’s 306.

In this interview excerpt, Trump essentially delusionally describes Biden with a phrase that accurately describes himself instead: “A president that lost and lost badly.”

The weekend hosts at Fox News only furthered Trump’s lies and delusions as they reacted to the pre-recorded interview with an undeserved sympathy that accepted his claims of a stolen election as if they were anything other than a steaming pile of horse manure.

Trump also demonstrated his cynical dismissal of basic legal principles in his pursuit of the victory that actual ballots failed to deliver.

Of course, Trump doesn’t want to talk about whether he will show up to Biden’s inauguration.

He’s too busy undermining the rule of law and America’s system of jurisprudence.

Still, instead of attacking Fox News on its own airwaves, Trump funneled his frustration towards another formerly loyal supporter whose recent contributions to his quest to stage a coup he has been less than impressed with, Attorney General William Barr.

For all of Trump’s grievances of late against Fox News, few other widely distributed news outlets would allow him to deliver his unfiltered litany of lies and misinformation to the public without challenge or correction.

Perhaps they should simply change their name to Fox Fantasy to better reflect the content of their broadcasts.
