Splitsville: Pence turns his back on Trump in momentous schism

MIKE DROP: Pence swears on Mother he'll tell the whole truth and nothing but

Mr. Milquetoast has gotten hot under the collar.

After the insurrection of violent Trump supporters invaded the Capitol Building yesterday and interrupted the proceedings certifying the electoral college victory of Joe Biden, Vice-President Mike Pence is reportedly angrier than a boiled owl at the master he’s served so dutifully for the past four years.

Pence’s seething rage comes from Trump’s incessant demands in the days leading up to the domestic terror attack that the Vice-President ignore the mandates of the Constitution and block the certification of the legitimate election results.

The storming of the Capitol occurred after Trump continued to instigate his followers to violent action once Pence confirmed in a letter to legislators that he did not think that he had the “unilateral authority” to reject any of the already certified electoral votes.

Pence’s rage isn’t something that he has displayed openly to the public, but Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) has stated earlier this week that he had “never seen” Vice-President Pence so angry.

In an interview with hometown newspaper The Tulsa World on Tuesday, Senator Inhofe related that he has “known Mike Pence forever” and that he’s “never seen Pence as angry as he was today.”

“I had a long conversation with him,” Inhofe told The Tulsa World. “He said, ‘After all the things I’ve done for [Trump].’”

Add your name to demand the 25th amendment be used to remove Trump from office IMMEDIATELY!

The Vice-President is likely incensed that he hitched his political wagon to an engine driving straight into the abyss after the events of the past 24 hours.

While Pence has kept an outwardly calm demeanor throughout the interrupted electoral vote certification — a confirmation of his own loss as well as Donald Trump’s — it must be difficult to keep all that repressed anger bottled up.

Perhaps he should take the advice of likely incoming Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and begin to initiate the invocation of the 25th Amendment, removing Trump from the presidency and then simply refusing to issue that pardon that Trump is likely expecting to save his butt from federal prison.

Now that’s the best way to express your anger and get a small measure of righteous vengeance in return.
