Trump warns this is “only the beginning” in statement on transfer of power

Early on Thursday morning, President Trump finally issued a statement addressing the transfer of power from himself to President-elect Joe Biden, promising that it would be “orderly” in the wake of his deliberate incitement of a mob and their subsequent storming of the Capitol building.

In typical Trump fashion, he refused to take any responsibility for the event and continued to dispute the results of the election but accepted that this will be an “orderly transition” — but made sure to warn that this is “only the beginning.” POLITICO reports that the President said:

“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again.”

Trump’s last-ditch efforts to overturn the election results collapsed in ignominious fashion as many of his backers in Congress turned tail in the wake of the astonishing mob attack, too disturbed at having to face the consequences of their own actions and realizing that things have gone way too far to go through with their comical attempts to challenge the election results.

Add your name to tell prosecutors to CHARGE TRUMP for trying to get Georgia’s Secretary of State to rig the election!

Now that he has been silenced on major social media platforms for inciting violence with his posts, Trump is left with little recourse and no way to vent his frustrations. In addition, the media is once again reporting that Trump is in a very vulnerable state and feels betrayed by everyone around him — a very dangerous state for a demented old man with access to the nuclear codes.

We cannot allow Trump and his Republican enablers to get away with inciting a mob to try and stop our democratic transfer of power from playing out. It is imperative that Congress reconvene, impeach this President, and expel every member of Congress who aided and abetted in this deliberately incited insurrection against the democratically elected government of the United States of America.
