Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ high school teacher flunks her for her misunderstanding of the 1st Amendment
As the Trump regime teeters between armed rebellion and irrelevancy, scorn is being heaped upon everyone ever associated with the treasonous president’s administration, both current and former, as they continue to defend Trump and his seditious efforts to deny the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election.
Perhaps no former official in the inner circle of Donald Trump faced more effective ridicule in the wake of last week’s storming of the Capitol Building by unruly mobs of vengeful and violent MAGA supporters than former Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
While the rest of the nation who weren’t on board with that insurrection was busy being frightened over the future of our democracy, Sanders was on Twitter complaining about how she and other right-wing extremists were losing massive numbers of followers in the wake of the administration’s fascist turn to the violent overthrow of our system of governance.

Unlike her former boss, at least the ex-press secretary still currently has access to social media.
The accounts of Sanders and the other Trump administration officials whose follower count dropped precipitously in recent days likely suffered because of Twitter’s removal of multiple accounts associated with QAnon and calling for a violent response to the president’s evidence-free lies about the supposedly “stolen” election, but why contemplate the justified consequences of seditious actions when you can accuse your detractors of censorship?
The reaction to Sanders’ pitiful complaint was swift and brutal, but no response likely cut so deep as that of a former Advanced Placement History teacher at Little Rock Central High in Arkansas when she was a student there.
While Mr. Deree may regret that Sanders never bothered to take his class on Government, he did teach the young woman in Sunday school and now believes that she was any better at absorbing those lessons than she was at understanding the First Amendment.
For the outwardly evangelical Sanders, that attack on her false piety must have likely been the most painful.
In the small world department, it turns out that Mr. Deree has a connection to yet another former Trump press secretary, Sean Spicer, as well.
Perhaps Spicer will be smart enough at this point to keep his mouth shut regarding Wednesday’s coup attempt, but, damn, we all want to hear those stories now, Mr. Deree!
