Jared & Ivanka refused to let Secret Service into their bathrooms so Obama helped out
Comparing the Trumps to the Obamas can often feel like picking low-hanging fruit. Donald’s cruel, venal family is the furthest thing in the world from the one raised by Barack and Michelle and every so often we get a stark reminder of just how different they are. Providing just such a reminder, The Washington Post reports that Secret Service agents assigned to protect Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner in their Kalorama, Washington D.C. home were forbidden to use the toilets inside the house.
While the Trumps have six bathrooms inside their house, the agents given the unenviable task of protecting him — that is to say the agents who would be willing to lay down their lives for Ivanka and Jared if it came to that — were denied the ability to tend to this basic human need and were instead forced to spend months looking for a place to consistently relieve themselves. The agents resorted to using a porta-potty at times, restrooms in local businesses, and even ended up using the bathrooms in the Obama home, which is situated in the same neighborhood.
“It’s the first time I ever heard of a Secret Service detail having to go to these extremes to find a bathroom,” a law enforcement official told The Post.
“[Jared and Ivanka] sort of came in with the attitude, like, ‘We are royalty,’” said Dianne Bruce, who lived on the same street for a while. “When they put the porta-potty right outside on the sidewalk we weren’t allowed to walk on, that was when people in the neighborhood said, ‘That’s really not acceptable.’”

The agents continued to use the Obama’s house until a member of the Ivanka/Jared security detail unloaded what The Post describes as an “unpleasant mess” in an Obama bathroom, at which point Obama’s own Secret Service agents decided to ban them from the house.
While White House spokesperson Judd Deere denied the accusation that Ivanka and Jared barred the agents from using the bathroom, claiming it was instead a decision by the Secret Service to remain outside the house, we are long past the point where even a single word uttered by this administration should be believed. It’s safest to presume that everything that comes from a White House spokesperson is a lie. Local law enforcement told The Post that it was indeed Ivanka and Jared who made the demand.
It’s difficult to conjure up a more absurd distillation of the difference in character between the Trumps and Obamas than this. Ivanka and Jared clearly just couldn’t stand the idea of people who they view as less than themselves sharing the same bathrooms, even if those people were tasked with protecting their lives. The Obamas on the other hand demonstrated the common decency and compassion we’ve come to expect from them and welcomed Secret Service agents working for their political enemies into their home.
Ultimately, Secret Service was forced to foist the costs of guarding the First Daughter and her cursed-doll-who-turned-into-a-real-boy husband onto the American taxpayers. Government funds to the tune of $3,000 a month were allocated to rent a basement studio equipped with a bathroom for the agents to use. To date, $100,000 has been spent on it and by the time the lease expires it will total $144,000.
Luckily, Donald Trump will soon leave the White House at which point we can flush him and his execrable family away for good.
