Major CPAC speaker is “guest of honor” at white supremacist conference hosted by Jan 6th rioter

This weekend brings us the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, where everyone who matters in the Republican Party gets on stage and unloads an outrageous series of racist dog whistles, ridiculous conspiracy theories and whining rants about how unfair life is for white conservatives in America. A veritable smorgasbord of red meat for the decaying boomers and devious little freaks who make up the modern Republican Party’s core audience, the content has skewed more and more radical with each passing year — and this time, they aren’t even bothering trying to hide the fact that the entire event is a celebration of white supremacy.

While many on social media puzzled over the shape of the CPAC stage, which appears to be a Nordic odal rune appropriated by neo-Nazis to distance themselves from the unsavory connotations of their preferred Nazi swastika, all one needed to do was look nearby, where rabid white supremacist, Holocaust denier and Jan 6th insurrectionist Nicholas J. Fuentes and his “America First” PAC conference were hosting former Congressman Steve King — the one who lost all his committee assignments and then his seat for openly promoting white supremacy — and current Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ), who skipped a vote on the COVID-19 relief bill to go to the Nazi conference instead.

The very next day, Paul Gosar appeared at CPAC and spoke to the crowd. “I want to tell you—I denounce when we talk about white racism. That’s not appropriate,” said Gosar in a tepid and obviously performative attempt to distance himself from where he was last night, but the message couldn’t be clearer.

The old Republican Party is dead and gone. Trump, his repulsive children and all the wee Nazi snotlings that have risen to prominence in his flatulent wake own the Republican Party now, and it will only continue to become more deeply entrenched in the white supremacy that has nourished conservative politics in this country since the Civil War. There is no redemption and no possible recovery; only a burning imperative to do everything we can to keep the levers of power from their greasy little fingers.
