Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has a beef with the Marines.
It’s not about anything regarding America’s bloated military budget, endless wars, or the billions of dollars spent developing fighter jets that can’t do a good job fighting or flying, things that any American should be challenging the military about.
No, it’s about the Marine Corps leadership condemning right-wing mouthpiece and Fox News host Tucker Carlson after he ranted on about the “feminization” of the American military.
“So we’ve got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits. Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It’s a mockery of the U.S. Military,” Carlson complained. “While China’s military becomes more masculine as it’s assembled the world’s largest navy, our military needs to become as Joe Biden says more feminine, whatever feminine means anymore since men and women no longer exist. The bottom line is it’s out of control, and the Pentagon is going along with this.”
The reprehensible Fox News talking head was lambasted by female service members after his reactionary outburst, but what has Senator Cruz fuming was this reply to Carlson from the officially verified military social media account of the Marine Expeditionary Force.
The communications officer in charge of the Twitter account where this tweet was posted faced immediate backlash from right-wing supporters of Carlson who thought that the military should refrain from engaging in civilian political disputes and quickly deleted the post and issued an apology for wading into controversial territory.
Apparently, the apology didn’t go far enough for Ted Cruz.
He posted a conservative virtue-signaling tweet demanding a meeting with Marine Corps brass at the Pentagon to discuss the politicization of the military.
Under Biden, the military is launching political attacks to intimidate Tucker Carlson & other civilians who criticize their policy decisions.
Officials in uniform are being used for the campaign.
I've demanded a meeting with the Commandant of the USMC to put a stop to it. pic.twitter.com/Ihl8xRJr0S

Oddly, Cruz — who spent part of his day back on January 6th riling up the crowds at the Stop the Steal rally before the Capitol insurrection — had nothing to say about the politicizing of the military when the Trump appointees at the Pentagon dithered over sending in the National Guard to stop the violence in the halls of Congress that day or about the general’s silent compliance as Trump raided the military budget to pay for the construction of his useless border wall.
The response to Senator Cruz’s tweet was rapid and vicious as the Twitterverse compared the Texas senator’s outrage over the criticism of Carlson to his meek acceptance of Donald Trump’s attacks on his wife and father in the 2016 Republican primary.
Has Ted Cruz authored one piece of legislation that has been made into law? Or does he just go on Fox News and wage war on cultural issues?

Tucker Carlson attacked women in the military, also blaming @POTUS for a program started under Trump.

As Domingo Ayala would say, “Erytine! Ted Cruz is full of bullshittery errrytine!!”

He incites insurrection, flees from crisis and shitposts on Twitter and literally nothing else of any value. I’m a native Texan and I despise his Canadian ass. pic.twitter.com/vALhl4JGfi

It’s a shame that Senator Cruz can’t find anything more productive to do with his time besides shilling for white-supremacy-promoting TV personalities.
If the business of Congress isn’t sufficiently interesting enough to occupy his attention on a daily basis, there are plenty of much more qualified Democrats ready to step in and take his place.
