For a political party that proudly champions the phrase “facts don’t care about your feelings,” American conservatives are sure easily offended and obsessed with speaking to the manager.
Sen. Ted Cruz, who spends most of his days tweeting out childish “COME AND TAKE” gun memes when he’s not telling racist lies on the floor of the Senate or trying to sneak off to Cancun, threw a fit on the floor of the Senate this morning and demanded that Sen. Dick Durbin apologizes for labeling him a liar for claiming relief checks were being sent to undocumented migrants.

While the infuriating Senator Durbin insisted on centristing himself into an agreement with Ted Cruz that undocumented migrants in America shouldn’t receive any stimulus checks — not like they don’t need to buy food or medicine or anything else during these troubled times and have substantially fewer resources for relief than American citizens do — he did not apologize and told Cruz he was being unreasonable for demanding they stop the entire process just to make sure a few of America’s most vulnerable residents don’t get desperately needed relief money.
“I’ve read the provisions that are offered by the Senator from Texas today and I’ll tell you he basically says to the American government when it comes to cash payments, stop the presses, stop the presses, I want to know who these people are and I don’t want you to send them a check, and I don’t think that’s reasonable. We’ve sent out 90 million checks, another 60 million on the way. To deny these people the cash while we go through this element of debate and division is unfair. I don’t want these checks to go to these people any more than he does, but I’m not gonna stop the issuing of checks to people in Texas, or Illinois in the meantime and I object.”

Durbin gets to the real crux of the Cruz argument — that nobody should be getting any relief checks, because now that Cruz and the rest of his Republican cronies blew a $1.3 trillion dollar hole in the budget with their tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, we can’t afford to spare a dime for anybody else. It’s ridiculous to see Cruz demanding an apology like a child on the playground, especially considering the year he’s had, and Durbin would have been out of his mind to give one.
Social media was quick to point out Cruz’s shameful hypocrisy: he didn’t demand an apology from Donald Trump after he called his father a murderer and insulted his wife, Heidi!
Not sure what Durbin said to Cruz, but if he's demanding an apology, I can assure you that Durbin didn't insult his wife. https://t.co/Koo7RuSU7g

For calling his wife ugly? Or for calling his dad a murderer?
Oh wait that was… https://t.co/MkdUegAHNa

Tell Cruz to demand an apology from the former guy who insulted his wife and belittled him, then he can demand an apology from Durbin.
