Rand Paul sparks backlash with embarrassing outburst about baseball
The Republican Party is currently up in arms over Major League Baseball’s decision to move its All-Star Game out of Georgia in response to the draconian anti-voting law recently signed into law by the state’s GOP governor Brian Kemp.
SB 202, the legislation in question, makes it illegal to distribute food and water to people waiting in line to vote, makes ID mandatory for absentee ballots, restricts the locations of ballot drop boxes, and solidifies Republican control of election boards. The MLB has decided to take a stand against the indefensible bill and now suddenly “pro-free market” Republicans have some very serious thoughts about how a private company should conduct itself.
Senator Rand Paul (R-TX), a man who claims to be a libertarian, took to Twitter today to whine about the MLB’s boycott in the form of an incredibly convoluted comparison. He asked if the fact that voter ID laws are supposedly racist (they are, as they are designed entirely to lower voting turnout amongst minorities) means that NY Yankee tickets are discriminatory since they cost over $100 on average. The jump in logic makes little sense, but Paul seemed pretty pleased with himself and went on to ask if the MLB will mandate free tickets to allow “equal access.” One can only imagine how decayed one’s brain must be for this tweet to make sense.
Add your name to demand Congress raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour!
Like the rest of his authoritarian party, Paul wants to paint SB 202 as anything other than what it is: a conservative backlash to Georgia going blue in the 2020 election. Republicans have realized that their plutocratic, cryptofascist platform is appealing to a smaller and smaller voting bloc, and rather than adjust their pitch to the American people they’ve decided to simply deny the vote to the American people. If it comes down to it, they will jettison democracy entirely to stay in power.
Senator Paul conveniently left out the rest of the bill, presumably because there’s no way to explain the rest of SB 202’s measures without admitting that it is designed entirely to make it harder to vote. The only proper response to this attack on our Republic is to use the very thing these power-hungry cretins are trying to destroy: the vote. Vote out Paul and vote out every last Republican in office and strip them of power. It’s the only thing these people understand.
If needing to show an ID to vote is racist, perhaps NY Yankees tickets that average over $100 are discriminatory? Will ‘woke’ @MLB mandate free tickets to to allow equal access?

If the MAGA Mob was an insurrection, is this Jiffy Lube special a sign of Western imperialism?

Good job implying POC are too poor for baseball.
You. Don’t. Get. It.
And you don’t want to.

Yes, Yankees tickets are very expensive. It’s a luxury to go to a professional baseball game, not a constitutionally guaranteed right.
And the last time I checked, Aaron Judge wasn’t trying to control what I do with my uterus, Porn Perm Paul.— Jo (@JoJoFromJerz) April 5, 2021
Voter ID policies are racist because they were formulated with the intent of suppressing black voting.

Limits on capitalism, you say?
Interesting.

The fact that you don't seem to comprehend the difference between the government and a sports league explains much of your legislative history.

BREAKING: @RandPaul admits that strict voter ID laws produce a discriminatory impact on minority voters.

This dumbass senator doesn't know the difference between a private company and a constitutional right.
