Trump advisor ridiculed over his claim that Biden will force people to drink “plant-based” beer

The Republican attacks on the Biden administration’s plan for dealing with the climate crisis have been full of misleading assumptions, outright lies, and a colossal amount of abject stupidity, all motivated by a desire to ensure that the fossil fuel industry continues to pump out profits for the stock portfolios of GOP fatcats and to donate generously to their campaign funds.

If you thought that the purposefully fear-inducing — but completely untrue — warnings being promulgated by the likes of Donald Trump Jr. and Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO) about Biden’s supposed plans to mandate a restriction of America’s meat intake was a brazen attempt at conning the American public into opposing action to fight the environmental degradation of the planet, then you’ll likely be smacking your head when you read about the latest Republican assault on the Biden administration’s reversal of Donald Trump’s environmental failures.

Larry Kudlow, Trump’s former senior economic advisor, is no stranger to the Fox News airwaves, having been a frequent guest sent to appear on the network by the previous administration to reinforce its lies about economic issues, the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, and any other issue where his talent for lying convincingly managed to keep a few more doddering senior citizens and low-information voters on board the Trump train for much longer than they might have otherwise tolerated.

Kudlow attacked President Biden’s plans to fight the global climate crisis this week in an appearance on Fox Business that falsely conflated the administration’s efforts with the Green New Deal platform being sought by progressive politicians including Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Speaking of Biden’s Earth Day announcement of a target of a 50% decrease in carbon emissions by our nation by 2030, Kudlow ridiculed the initiative as poisonous for the economy and posited a future for an America filled with involuntary vegans.

“Speaking of stupid,” Kudlow spewed, “America has to, get this, America has to stop eating meat, stop eating poultry and fish, seafood, eggs, dairy and animal-based fats. OK, got that? No burgers on July Fourth. No steaks on the barbecue. … So get ready. You can throw back a plant-based beer with your grilled Brussels sprouts and wave your American flag.”

Never mind that no one in the Biden administration has proposed any such thing, Kudlow was so intent on delivering fear into the hearts of every burger-loving, steak-consuming, red-blooded American that he even raised the specter of what he must have thought was a particularly unappealing beverage choice: plant-based beer.

Luckily, the denizens of Twitter were quick to upbraid the recipe-deficient former economic advisor for his failure to understand just how beer is made and what its ingredients typically consist of.

One almost has to admire the contempt that Kudlow displays for his intended audience of right-wing numbskulls whom he obviously believes are too stupid to realize that the beers that they swill are already made out of wholely plant-based ingredients.

This type of cynical manipulation of lies into unfounded fears is the very basis of Trumpism and a modern Republican party that has never met a lie too audacious to spread to achieve their political aim of perpetual control on the levers of power.

Let’s see Fox Business feature a segment where Larry Kudlow is forced to down a pint of his favorite meat-based alcoholic brew.

That would certainly be so much more entertaining than enduring Kudlow’s poorly thought-out propaganda tirades. Cheers to that idea!
