Unearthed video shows Marjorie Taylor-Greene yelling into AOC’s mail slot, taunting her staff
Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene’s (R-GA) Wednesday night ambush of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) solidified the controversial Georgian’s reputation as one of the most unhinged and disagreeable people to ever darken the nation’s Capitol. But as is so often the case with MTG, some studious digging by CNN’s KFILE team revealed that this isn’t even the first time Taylor-Greene has harassed Ocasio-Cortez.
The ever-diligent Andrew Kaczynski unearthed a since-deleted 2019 Marjorie Taylor-Greene Facebook video in which the then-candidate taunts and verbally abuses AOC’s staff through the mailslot in her Congressional office. In the video, Taylor-Greene is heard telling Ocasio-Cortez to “get rid of your diaper” and mocks her office as a “daycare.”
“We’re going to go see, we’re going to visit, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Crazy eyes. Crazy eyes. Nutty. Cortez,” mutters Greene to the camera as they approach, making it clear who really has the “crazy eyes” in an absurd display of projection.
Once they arrive at her office, Greene demands that AOC come out and face her. “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, I’m an American citizen. I pay your salary through the taxes that you collect for me through the IRS because I’m a taxpaying citizen of the United States…So you need to stop being a baby and stop locking your door and come out and face the American citizens that you serve. If you want to be a big girl, you need to get rid of your diaper and come out and be able to talk to the American citizens. Instead of having to use a flap, a little flap. Sad.”
For obvious reasons, nobody in Ocasio-Cortez’s office bothers to engage with the clearly disturbed MTG and give her the viral social media content she’s so desperate for. Right-wing lunatics obsess over Ocasio-Cortez for a variety of reasons and this kind of nonsense is sadly all-too-familiar to the Queens progressive and her team.
Taylor-Greene has a long history of pulling stunts like this for clout; one of her early moments as a “conservative activist” featured her harassing a survivor of the Parkland school massacre in Florida, claiming that it was a “false flag” attack and insinuating that the traumatized teenager had been a paid actor. Earlier this year, Taylor-Greene provoked another confrontation with a fellow House member, publicly misgendering Rep. Marie Newman (D-IL)’s trans daughter in a horrifying show of bigotry towards a child.
It’s clear that not even being stripped of her committee assignments was punishment enough to temper her bad behavior. This is a distinct pattern that will undoubtedly continue to play out until Taylor-Greene is sent packing from Congress, and our nation’s honor demands that we do everything we can to make sure this psychotic woman stays as far away from the levers of power as humanly possible.
