Donald Trump Jr. didn’t seem to have a problem when journalists from right-wing media outlets like OAN, Newsmax, and Fox News would obsequiously ask fawning questions of his father that played right into Donald Trump Sr.’s most narcissistic excesses.
When it comes to coverage of Joe Biden, his father’s actually competent successor, however, Junior flies into a raging meltdown when reporters ask similarly vapid and ingratiating questions at press briefings.
Trump Jr. was so apoplectic over an exchange during one of White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s recent press briefings asking about Biden’s exercise regimen that he was inspired to post an over-the-top video on social media to rail against Biden and spread lies and innuendo about the president’s physical condition.
Junior was reacting to Psaki’s response yesterday to a journalist’s query about Biden’s weight lifting routine which was:
“I can tell you traveling with him a fair amount, sometimes he’s hard to keep up with.”
Donald Trump Jr. pulled out his best imitation of a third-rate late-night comedian with his video-recorded response to Psaki’s description of the extraordinarily robust 78-year-old president.
“Really, Jen?” Trump Jr. archly asked in this morning’s post. “He can’t walk up the stairs of Air Force One without falling over! Now, if you said that he’s hard to keep up with because you have no idea what the hell he is saying when he’s speaking, that I would understand. But if you’re going to tell me that he’s hard to keep up with physically when we don’t see him doing anything early, we see lids being called in the middle of the day, you don’t see him doing anything late.”
The eldest son of the twice-impeached one-term president channeled his inner Don Rickles as he continued his rant.
“I mean, does anyone really believe he’s hard to keep up with?” he skeptically questioned. “You and I and any reasonable being with a brain has no idea what he’s saying. But these are the hard-hitting questions from the media. I mean, oh, we’re blowing it out. This is journalism. They’re asking all the tough questions! What the hell are you asking about?”
This comes from the son of a man who used to get hard-hitting questions like these from sycophantic reporters at upstart “news” organizations like OAN that were poorly concealed propaganda farms dedicated to shoring up support for the then-president.
“We’re watching Joe Biden slip very gently into senility while you’re at the top of your game. What’s your secret?” as Chanel Rion, OAN’s White House correspondent, outlandishly querried Trump last August on the eve of the Republican National Convention.
Junior wasn’t done with his ranting about the current president’s physical fitness and pursued a highly laughable tack in the next portion of his verbal assault.
“The president rides a stationary bike. Oh, that’s wonderful!”
“You think that would happen with Trump?” Don Jr.asked. [EDITOR’S NOTE: never in a million years could we imagine Donald Trump voluntarily exercizing.]
“The world is on fire and we’re pretending everything is just fine. Joe Biden is riding a bike and he’s weightlifting! He’s a strong and viable leader! You can’t make it up, folks. So we’ve got to push back. We’ve got to call it out.”
One has to chortle at Junior’s attempts to insinuate that President Biden is neglecting his presidential duties while taking care of his physical health given the vast number of hours that his father spent at his own taxpayer-funded trips to his own golf resorts while pocketing copious fees for the accommodations for his extensive Secret Service security detail.
Then again perhaps Don Jr. shares his father’s overall contempt for exercise that is best exemplified by his theory that the practice merely depletes your body’s internal “battery” and leads to premature death.
Anyone who pays attention to what either Donald Trump Jr. or his father are saying (and doesn’t get paid to do so) is likely already a hopeless case when it comes to convincing them of the foolishness of listening to the comments of these certifiable fools.
It does help, however, to pay attention to what those on the other side of the culture wars are disseminating, so you can watch Donald Trump Jr.’s latest video rant in the clip below.
