Trump slammed for denial that DOJ note-taking shows he was trying to overturn election results
After evidence of Donald Trump’s attempts to weaponize the Department of Justice to support his claims of a stolen election last November became public yesterday, the disgraced former president tried to deny that he did anything improper by issuing a press release denying that he was attempting to overturn the election results in his calls to top DOJ officials.
After the House Oversight and Reform Committee released the hand-written notes taken by Richard Donoghue, a deputy to former acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, during a phone call between Trump, Rosen, and himself, that revealed the pressure that Trump was exerting on the Justice Department to “just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me,” the ex-president slammed the committee for releasing the documents and issued his own interpretation of the meeting notes.
“The corrupt and highly partisan House Democrats who run the House Oversight Committee yesterday released documents—including court filings dealing with the rigged election of 2020—that they dishonestly described as attempting to overturn the election,” Trump claimed.
However, he quickly pivoted to renewed assertions that the election was somehow “rigged” despite the lack of evidence for his claims.
“In fact, it is just the opposite. The documents were meant to uphold the integrity and honesty of elections and the sanctity of our vote,” his press release continued. “The American People want, and demand, that the President of the United States, its chief law enforcement officer in the country, stand with them to fight for Election Integrity and to investigate attempts to undermine our nation.”
While it may be true that a majority of the American electorate do want the current president, Joe Biden, to investigate Trump’s own attempts to undermine public confidence in the security and validity of our federal election results, the former guy continues to insist that he is the true victim rather than the biggest perpetrator of “massive fraud on the American People” with his purposefully erroneous claims about the election.

After Trump’s latest press release was posted on Twitter by the extremist Right Side Broadcasting Network, the people commenting on the post took both the former president and the upstart propaganda outfit to task for their continued propagation of lies about the legitimacy of the election results.

Trump is banned for a reason and RSBN should be now too. We did not suffer an incredibly corrupt Presidential election. To assert so incites more coups and violence. I'm old enough to remember when RSBN boycotted twitter. What happened?

Donald Trump can deny anything that he cares to, but the evidence of his integral role in attempting to overturn the election results is mounting.
The only thing that doesn’t make sense at this point is why he isn’t already in prison.
