Trump invents new terror group after embarassing fumble in Hannity interview
In the wake of yesterday’s horrific bombings at the Kabul airport that killed more than 100 people, the last person anyone in the world needed to hear from was Donald J. Trump. But of course, FOX News insisted on trotting him out to babble incoherently about how this is somehow President Biden’s fault, to brag about the militants that were assassinated while he was in office and to promote the newest ISIS affiliate, ISIS-X.
You read that right.
In typical Trump hyperbole, he bragged about how he had entirely “knocked out” the ISIS caliphate in Iraq and Syria (credit goes to the Kurdish YPG fighters who actually did the fighting) and then announced that there is a “new ISIS” called ISIS-X. Realizing that his gravy-addled brain was supposed to be referring to ISIS-Khorasan, also known as ISIS-K, he quickly ad-libbed to insist that there would be an ISIS-X “pretty soon” that would be “even worse” — just complete jibberish from a man who obviously has no idea what he’s talking about.
"That's the new ISIS-X, where they broke away — or ISIS-K. They'll have an ISIS-X pretty soon, which is gonna be worse than ISIS-K" — Trump pic.twitter.com/2uwNokcMWo

But the most heinous utterances to come from Trump’s mouth once again focused on diminishing the malignance of Osama bin Laden in order to embellish the reputations of the men that were murdered under his administration.
“Look at [Abu Bakr] al-Baghdadi, we took him out, nobody could find him for 15 years, far bigger than Osama bin Laden, Osama bin Laden bad and he hit the World Trade Center and it was a horrible thing, but al-Baghdadi was the founder of ISIS!” crowed Trump to Hannity, echoing remarks he had made earlier in the week to Hugh Hewitt about how the murder of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani and the killing of al-Baghdadi were more important events than the murder of Osama bin Laden.

We really shouldn’t be surprised at this point, but it is astonishing to hear a former president of the United States dismiss the perpetrator of the worst terrorist attack in our nation’s history for the sole purpose of demeaning his predecessor’s accomplishments and buffing up the reputations of the people that he killed while in office. Again, these are all people who killed others and were killed themselves, and he’s talking about them like they’re models from competing fashion agencies.
Beyond disgusting.
Social media had a good time mocking Trump for his “ISIS-X” quip:

Look. when I said “this would never happen under president Trump” I did not expect him to undercut that by calling it “ISIS-X” an hour later because he confused it with a Mega Man game he saw in 1993. I was trying to impress the guys smearing horse dewormer on their nipples. ok?

Say what you will about ISIS-X, but "Suicide Blonde" is still a jam.
