As it becomes more and more obvious that there is little actual political vision behind post-Trump conservatism beyond “owning the libs,” its disciples are forced to engage in more and more ridiculous stunts to keep people’s attention and keep themselves in the headlines.
Radical conspiracy theorist Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene tried to get some social media clout on Labor Day by sharing a video of herself surfing in a bikini and declaring that it was her riding the “RedWave” in the 2022 midterm elections, along with a bunch of hashtags that ended with a demand to “STOP SOCIALISM!”
Many of these were contradictory in and of themselves, like the demand to “Fire Fauci” but also to “End Cancel Culture,” showing that the modern Republican project is nothing but a series of hashtags with little relation to either reality or the serious business of governing this divided and damaged country.
Unfortunately for her, only 3,000 out of her nearly 500,000 followers “liked” the tweet, while the majority of the replies were pointing out that the “red wave” she was riding actually looked rather blue:
Is anyone going to tell Marjorie that wave is blue?

How can can you have Fire Fauci and End Cancel Culture in the same sentence?
Isn't that an example of cancel culture?

Crazy how she doesn’t know what the color red looks like? https://t.co/CwfQXypqfK
