Jen Psaki exposes the idiocy of Fox reporter’s asinine question about Biden and border
After standing idly by as Trump enacted his incredibly cruel policy to separate families along the border to terrify migrants—or worse voicing outright supporting it—Republicans don’t have a shred of credibility left when it comes to immigration. They don’t see migrants as people, they see them as political pawns that they can exploit for fearmongering and racial politics. With that in mind, one must interpret all of the Fox News coverage about the border right now as nothing more than a transparent attempt to smear the Biden administration.
Today, Fox News’s Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki why President Biden hasn’t visited the southern border. She had no patience for the utterly inane question.
“What would you like him to do at the southern border and what impact do you think it would have on the policies?” responded Psaki, instantly revealing the absurdity at the heart of Doocy’s line of thinking. President Biden doesn’t need to stage a photo-op at the border in order to implement solid policy. Does Doocy expect him to drive around with Border Patrol and stop migrants himself? Is he supposed to fly down and build a wall with his bare hands?

“Why doesn’t he want to go?” Doocy responded.
“I don’t think it’s an issue of wanting to go. I think it’s an issue of what’s most constructive to address what we see as a challenging situation at the border and a broken immigration system,” said Psaki. “And his view is the most constructive role we can play is by helping to push immigration reform forward, helping reform the broken policies of the last several years, and listening to his team of advisors who have been to the border multiple times about what the path forward should look like.”
“So why is this the one crisis then that he thinks he can manage better from here without having seen it than going to the southern border?” asked Doocy, desperate for a gotch soundbite.
“I can assure the president is well aware of what the challenges are in our broken immigration system, something he watched closely over the last four years,” said Psaki.
