Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) has been one of the Democratic party’s most persistent pursuers of Donald Trump, both throughout Trump’s presidency and in his zombie afterlife-like post-presidential public presence.
So it was no surprise when the California lawmaker — who played such an important role in prosecuting the former president’s first impeachment and is a member of the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection — weighed in after being name-checked in Trump’s latest tantrum about the investigation into the biggest assault on American democracy in modern history.
Trump issued his rant in a press release yesterday that slammed the select committee as the “highly partisan Unselect Committee” and characterized it as a mere attempt at distracting the public from the “MASSIVE failures by Biden and the Democrats.”
After such an unwarranted and false smear by the former president, Congressman Schiff simply could not remain silent.
He took to Twitter to sarcastically thank Trump for the mention and to point out one of the more ludicrous details in the deranged narcissist’s manifesto of frustration.
Thanks for the shout-out, Mr. Former President.
As for your statement that the attack on the Capitol would never have happened if “the people in charge had done their job”
You do realize that you were in charge on January 6th? Right?

Touché, Congressman Schiff, touché!
To anyone outside of his sizable cult, Trump’s protestations are suggestive of a desperate attempt to prevent the truth about the January 6th insurrection from being discovered and are highly indicative of a desire to avoid accountability at all costs, further raising suspicions of his guilt.
Let Trump bellow all he wants. Once the facts are uncovered, his rants will likely be confined to echoing off of the prison walls he will hopefully soon be confined within.
