Jen Psaki swats down Doocy for complaining that Biden hasn’t held border photo-op yet
For some bizarre reason, the mainstream media is obsessed with whether or not President Biden has actually visited the southern border. Just last night, CNN published a “fact check” complaining that they can’t verify Biden’s claim that he has visited the border, and today in the White House press conference the issue was again brought up — can you guess by who?
That’s right, FOX reporter Peter Doocy is back and focused on the hard-hitting questions of the day, like whether a 76-year-old man has bothered to make a physical trip to the Texas desert to look at the sand.
“Why did President Biden say he has been to the border?” demanded to know Doocy.
“As you may have seen, there has been reporting that he did drive through the border when he was on the campaign trail in 2008 and he is certainly familiar with the fact, and it stuck with him, the fact that in El Paso, the border goes right through the center of town. But, the most important thing everyone should know and understand is that the president has worked on these issues throughout his entire career and is well-versed in every aspect of our immigration system, including the border – that includes when he was Vice President” responded Psaki.
“But does that count as a visit?” whined Doocy. “What is the root cause?” snapped back Psaki. “Where are people coming from who are coming to the border? People come from Central America and Mexico to go to the border,” Psaki said. “The president has been to those countries ten times to talk about border issues. There is a focus, right now, on a photo-op. The president does not believe a photo-op is the same as solutions.”

FOX and the right-wing media machine pulled this same stunt after Vice-President Kamala Harris was put in charge of addressing immigration at the border earlier this year. What do they expect them to accomplish with a physical border? Personally wave around a big sign that says “GO HOME?” Pose for photos with the whip-toting thugs in the Border Patrol and tell them what a great job they’re doing? Pick up a hammer and start constructing a fence themselves?
We all know that the right-wing media has no concern for the actual human beings who are being detained at the border and is in full approval of the reprehensible mass deportations that the Biden administration is carrying out, so this is all they have to cling to when it comes to inventing reasons to criticize the Biden administration.
