Most Democrats have realized for quite some time that most Republicans are pushing an agenda that isn’t exactly in the best interests of the average American citizen.
Opposing the type of universal health care that other advanced nations offer their residents, fighting to cut social services to pay for tax cuts for their billionaire donors, and numerous other standard GOP policy positions make the Republicans’ contempt and utter disregard for the welfare of everyday Americans pretty obvious.
Now, just in case any independent voters or old-school establishment Republicans haven’t gotten the message, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has posted a tweet that suggests that he and his party are now actively hoping that more people fall prey to the other pandemic that is sweeping the populace: the explosion of opioid addiction due to the widespread distribution of illegal Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that is 50 to 100 times more powerful than morphine and incredibly deadly when unexpectedly encountered in a dose of what someone might think is mere heroin, cocaine, or methamphetamine.
How else could one interpret this tweet which criticizes President Biden and his administration for successfully intercepting huge quantities of Fentanyl at the border before the drug could be distributed and lead to more deaths and additional cases of addiction?
Welcome 2 Pres Biden’s America where 10,000 pounds of fentanyl hv been seized by Customs & Border patrol so far this fiscal yr which is enough to kill over 2 billion ppl or more than 1/4 of the world’s population

If one were to be charitable towards the octogenarian Iowa senator, one could interpret the post as high praise for the Democratic president and his ability to win such ground in the long-running drug wars.
Most commentators on Twitter, however, armed with a keen sense of GOP political strategies, saw Grassley’s tweet as an inexplicable attack on a Customs and Border Patrol victory that potentially saved countless lives and is a better use of their time and energy than separating and locking up families of refugees.
Here’s a selection of responses to Senator Grassley’s misguided post.
Was Chuckie-baby seizing when he tweeted this?

I must confess I thought it was Chuck singing the administration's praises.

Senator Grassley’s latest social media faux pas makes a convincing argument for term limits — or at least age limits — for federal politicians.
It also shows the extreme cynicism and maliciousness that has invaded the American body politic in the post-Trump era that seems unlikely to go away until Trump is held accountable for his crimes and the Republican party suffers enough of an overwhelming electoral setback to reform their seditious ways.
If Senator Grassley’s mental lapses are what contribute to that end, rave on, senator, rave on.
