Liz Cheney publicly emasculates Ted Cruz after he accuses her of being deranged

Senator Ted Cruz is many things: an authoritarian, a cynical opportunist, a coward, a probable sociopath — but if there’s one thing that no one in their right mind would ever accuse him of being, it’s a man. This is an individual who watched Donald Trump insult his wife’s physical appearance and imply his father was involved in the assassination of JFK and then turned around and threw his full support behind getting him elected.

For a political party so obsessed with a cartoon version of masculinity — which Cruz has attempted to pander to with pathetic stunts like cooking bacon with a machine gun — the Republican Party sure does produce a lot of non-men. Maybe there’s more to being a man than just adopting superficial aesthetics?

Recognizing his well-recorded weakness on the topic of masculinity, one might think Cruz would be slightly more careful about who he picks a fight with. That turns out to not be the case, and on Tuesday Cruz attacked anti-Trump Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney, saying that she has “Trump derangement syndrome” and that the former president “broke” her.

Add your name to demand Trump be forced to testify for January 6th committee!!

“She hates Donald Trump so much that it just has overridden everything in her system. She’s lashing out at Trump and Republicans and everything, and she’s become a Democrat, and it’s sad to watch what has happened,” Cruz added.

Cheney has become something of a popular target for Republicans looking to strengthen their MAGA credentials, but Cruz made a mistake tangling with the daughter of the incredibly right-wing former vice president. During an appearance on CNN, she shredded him to the core.

“I think that Trump broke Ted Cruz,” said Cheney. “Ted used to say he was a Constitutional conservative. But now he is like so desperate for political approval that he will even advocate, suggest succession. And I think that a real man would be defending his wife, and his father and the Constitution.”
