Stunning new video of Lauren Boebert shows even worse racism against Ilhan Omar
Rep. Lauren Boebert has been weathering a storm of well-deserved criticisms and condemnation over the past few days over a viral clip in which she can be heard recounting an alleged incident in which she encountered Rep. Ilhan Omar in an elevator and proceeded to make a jaw-droppingly racist joke about Omar, who is Muslim, being a suicide bomber.
Omar hit back, calling Beobert a “buffoon” and slamming her Islamophobia, eventually calling on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Speaker Nancy Pelosi to take “appropriate action” against the bigoted Congresswoman from Colorado. Perhaps fearing that she might be stripped of committee assignments, Boebert then issued a deeply unconvincing apology to the “Muslim community,” stopping short of apologizing to Omar herself.
Today, CNN uncovered another video of Boebert that proves the racist clip wasn’t just a fluke. In a clip uncovered by CNN’s KFILE Boebert can be seen at a different event telling her racist elevator story about Ilhan Omar. In this iteration of the tall tale, there was no Capitol officer concerned about Omar, lending support to Omar’s claim that the story is totally made up.
This second video is actually worse than the first one because in it Boebert says Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who is also Muslim, are “blackhearted, evil women who want to destroy our country.” Clearly, Boebert just hates Muslims.

Yesterday, Boebert showed just how hollow her original “apology” of hers really was. In a video posted to her Instagram, Boebert claimed that she spoke to Omar on the phone.

“Hey everyone this is Lauren with a quick update on a phone call I had today with squad member Ilhan Omar,” the video begins. “I had reached out to her Friday and three days later I was able to connect with her on the phone because I wanted to let her know directly that I have reflected on my previous marks,” said Boebert, conveniently failing to specify exactly what those remarks were.
“Now, as a strong Christian woman who values faith deeply, I never want anything I say to offend someone’s religion, so I told her that,” Boebert went on. “Even after I put out a public statement to that effect, she said that she still wanted a public apology because what I had done wasn’t good enough so I reiterated to her what I had just said.”
“She kept asking for a public apology so I told Ilhan Omar that she should make an apology to the American people for her anti-American, antisemitic, anti-police rhetoric,” said Boebert, doubling down on her attempts to smear Omar.
“She continued to press and I continued to press back and then, Representative Omar hung up on me,” whined Boebert. “Rejecting an apology and hanging up on someone is part of cancel culture 101 and a pillar of the Democrat Party. Make no mistake: I will continue to fearlessly put America first, never sympathizing with terrorists. Unfortunately, Ilhan can’t say the same thing and our country is worse off for it. Please know I appreciate you and your support. I appreciate you understanding that I will always shoot straight with you.”
“This isn’t about religion,” claimed Boebert, who intentionally made it about religion by targeting Omar for her Muslim faith. “It’s about the horrible, failed, Democrat policies and anti-Americanism that I will call out each and every time I hear it. I am here to protect your freedom and continue making this the greatest nation our world has ever seen. God bless you and God bless America.”
So, to recap: Lauren Boebert called Ilhan Omar part of the “Jihad Squad” and joked about her carrying out a terrorist bombing on the Capitol, was called out for it by Omar, offered an apology to Muslims generally but not to Omar specifically, reached out to Omar to talk, and then got on the phone and proceeded to insult her and tell her SHE was the one would should apology. Omar understandably refused the fake apology and hung up, at which point Boebert recorded a video complaining that she’s the real victim in all of this.
If it wasn’t clear before it’s clear now: Lauren Boebert must be censured and stripped of her committee assignments. To do anything less at this point is to endorse Islamophobia.
