AOC publicly dunks on Lauren Boebert’s widely mocked Christmas gun photo
Far-right gun fetishist Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) shared her digital Christmas card with her Twitter followers yesterday and it was every bit as deranged as to be expected. The photo shows her posing with a massive grin in front of a Christmas tree, surrounded by her young sons, all of whom are holding assault weapons that look better suited for a battlefield than a living room.
Boebert tagged Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) in the tweet and said her family has his six, meaning they’ll watch his back, and joked that they didn’t have any spare ammo for him. The comment was a sign of solidarity with Massie after he came under criticism recently for an equally psychopathic gun-toting Christmas picture of his family.
Notably, Boebert’s husband was not in the picture — likely because he has become something of a profound source of shame for the family after it was revealed that he was previously arrested for exposing his genitalia to young women.

Well-adjusted individuals can take one look at this “Christmas” photo and realize there’s something profoundly wrong with it, but it takes on an extra ironic layer when one considers how often conservatives whine about the liberal left’s supposed “War on Christmas.” They claim Democrats want to erase the meaning of the holiday and then proceed to incorporate weapons of war into their celebration, a slap in the face to the nonviolent teachings of Jesus Christ. With their words they praise him and with their actions they discard his lessons. There is nothing Christian about an AR-15.
There’s also something additionally gross about Boebert using her children as crass political props.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), always one to point out the profound hypocrisies of the GOP, retweeted Boebert’s disturbing photo and drew attention to how incredibly contrary to the spirit of Christmas it is. She pointed out that Christ never instructed his followers to “use the commemoration of my birth to flex violent weapons for personal political gain.”
AOC added that it’s downright funny how Republicans spent so many years on “cultural hysteria of society ‘erasing Christmas and it’s meaning’ when they’re doing that fine all on their own.”
She could not have formulated a more succinct takedown.
