It’s hard to believe that former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) was ever a member of the Democratic party, let alone considered at one point a somewhat serious candidate for its presidential nomination in 2020.
Now, she’s building buzz for Trump with the horrifying Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Recently it was announced that former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard is set to speak at CPAC, the right-wing extremist political conference taking place in Orlando, Florida this upcoming weekend. No real Democrat would do this.
I’ll admit that during the Democratic primary, I personally didn’t know who Tulsi was, but that was because I was brand new to the party at the time. I didn’t even know she served in the military until she paraded her service record for votes. Recently, she abused the uniform by making a self-serving statement in uniform about people who ironically abuse their military ranks for political gain. How hypocritical!
Later on, in the 2020 Democratic primary cycle, Hillary Clinton revealed to us who Tulsi Gabbard really is: a Russian asset. Clinton didn’t even have to name Gabbard, yet, Tulsi reacted immediately, and kept reacting by running to Rupert Murdoch’s conservative Wall Street Journal editorial page to publish a response, which was then rated false by fact-checkers.
And as we see Tulsi’s recent remarks on our Democratic leadership — including what she’s said about Vice President Kamala Harris during that primary and since — it becomes clear that Hillary Clinton was right.
Even before the tensions between Russia and Ukraine rose to their current level, Tulsi Gabbard was showing her true colors.
Nine months before that primary campaign incident, NBC News reported that Russian trolls and bots on social media had a major crush on Gabbard.
But years before her failed candidacy, Tulsi Gabbard was a member of Congress. She visited Syria, of all places, and later became a Bashar Assad apologist. For those unfamiliar, Assad is better known as the Butcher of Syria, a very close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
How can a veteran and a member of congress support a dictator? It makes sense that she supports Putin and his Ukraine invasion since as it’s well known, Asaad and Putin are allies. It’s obvious that that’s where Tulsi’s loyalty lies, not with America.
Not coincidentally, Assad recognized the two breakaway Republics that Putin declared in Ukraine this week right before his general invasion.
Since then, Gabbard has appeared frequently on Fox News — on Tucker Carlson’s program of all shows — to trash the Democratic Party and spread right-wing propaganda.
As someone who had just learned what it means to be a Democrat, I found it difficult to believe that Tulsi Gabbard was ever a member of the party.
