MANIAC: Marjorie Taylor Greene’s crazytown response to Biden’s SOTU Speech embarrasses GOP
Pariah member of Congress Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) just delivered a fact-defying rant after President Biden’s impressive State of the Union speech that takes Republican politics to their unhinged logical conclusion.
We recently wrote about the Republican Congresswoman’s speech at a political conference organized by neo-Nazis and white nationalists and how GOP House Minority “leader” Kevin McCarthy refused to condemn her appearance.
You would think that someone facing intense public reprobation would keep a low profile after being called out for making common ground with nazis and other far-right extremists, but that’s not Greene’s style. The northern Georgia Representative took it upon herself to do something that no one asked her to do, delivering a response to President Biden’s State of The Union Address.
A CBS News poll shows that 78% of Americans who watched the SOTU approved of President Biden’s speech last night. More viewers who tuned in feel they will be helped by the economic proposals that Biden brought forward.
The official GOP Response to Biden’s speech was delivered by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, who mostly stayed within mainstream Republican talking points with lies mixed in to criticize the Biden administration. Greene’s loony bin rant was on a whole other level of hostility, spending thirty minutes ranting about conspiracy theories and delivering insults.
The Right Side Broadcasting Network, a conservative media company known for live streaming Donald Trump rallies, streamed Greene’s response to Biden’s State of the Union. She claimed that Putin’s invasion of Ukraine would never have happened under a Trump presidency, neglecting to mention the catalyst for the first Trump impeachment was his attempt to extort Ukrainian President Zelensky by withholding military aid if he didn’t investigate Hunter Biden.
The speech was full of blatant misinformation and extreme lies even for a Republican, including claiming that Biden has sent “thousands of troops” to Eastern Europe to defend Ukraine’s borders against Putin’s invasion. Greene also falsely claimed that “thousands of Americans are stuck over there in Afghanistan” while Democrats lecture governors about “masks and vaccines”.
Without any evidence, the most ridiculous tall tale the useless member of Congress propounded is that Biden is being blackmailed by world leaders due to a long-debunked conspiracy theory regarding a laptop purportedly owned by Hunter Biden – who lives in Los Angeles – that was somehow given to a blind man in Delaware and miraculously located by Trump’s henchmen Rudy Giuliani and Steve Bannon.
Greene has in the past descended into insults against political opponents and this speech was no different. Echoing her past comments that Biden is a “piece of shit”, she said in her speech that the U.S. has now a “mentally incompetent, feckless, dementia-ridden piece of crap.”
Classy.

Amazingly, this wasn’t even the worst thing that Georgia’s rogue CrossFit gym owner did during last night’s State of the Union speech. (She’s so horrible the gym disowned her last year.)
During the speech, MTG along with convicted criminal Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) miserably heckled President Biden. Their antics that boos from both Democrats and even some Republicans who at least believe in decorum while they don’t show much faith in democracy anymore.
During the President’s remarks regarding immigration, both Republicans began idiotically chanting “build the wall.” In a particularly reprehensible moment, Boebert actually booed Biden as he spoke about his eldest son Beau Biden.
Beau was the Attorney General of Delaware and a veteran who passed away from brain cancer which could be linked to “burn pit” exposure while he served our country.
It was all part of Greene and Boebert’s opposition to curing cancer, a goal Biden announced last night.
What’s next? Will the Republican Party create a pro-Cancer Caucus like they do with anti-vaxxing?
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden’s speech struck a conciliatory tone, providing common-sense policies that center working people and proposed corporate accountability measures. He outlined a plan to lower inflation and told corporations to “lower your costs, not your wages.” The standard approach to slowing inflation for decades has been to make sure workers earn less money. It’s refreshing to see an American President speak out against nonsense economic policies that hurt working families.
Republicans on the other hand are so out of touch with everyday people, they actually booed Biden when he said his American Rescue Plan helped working people, “unlike the $2 trillion tax cut passed in the previous administration that benefitted the top one percent”.
The GOP’s agenda is unapologetically pro-corporate.
When Kevin McCarthy refuses to condemn members of his Caucus like Greene, who appears at conferences alongside speakers who chant “Putin” while the Russian dictator invades Ukraine and openly praises the genocidal fascist Adolf Hitler, it demonstrates just how beholden the GOP has become to far-right extremists.
The Republican agenda is dangerous and out of touch with the American people, and that was on full display last night.
If you want to hang with the so-called “Grand Old Party” these days, then you’ve got to be used to crazytown moments every day.
