SEX, DRUGS & GOP: Rep. Madison Cawthorn reveals sordid stories of cocaine and "sexual get togethers"

Congressman Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), our favorite Hitler-loving sociopath, revealed in an interview with Warrior Poet Society podcast host John Lovell this week that since he’s arrived in Washington it’s been a continuous drug and sex-filled escapade.

Cawthron claimed to have witnessed colleagues who pretend to be “on the wagon” in public – yet snort “key bumps” of cocaine right in front of him.

Sounding critical in tone and appearing appalled, he spoke of being invited to “sexual get-togethers” with men whom he’s looked up to – veteran legislators three to four times his age – in attendance.

“The sexual pervasion that goes on in Washington, I mean, being kind of a young guy in Washington, average age is probably 60 or 70. I look at all these people, a lot of them that I’ve looked up to through my life–I’ve always paid attention to politics–then all of a sudden you get invited to, ‘Oh hey we’re going to have a sexual get together at one of our homes, you should come.

Now, while Cawthorn didn’t name names or political parties, the fact that he doesn’t have a very wide social circle outside of the Republican Party narrows things down a bit.

While it’s difficult to determine whether Cawthorn’s accusations are true, the timing of the “sex, drugs & rock ‘n roll” claims come at an interesting time for the freshman extremist legislator.

In the wake of bipartisan backlash surrounding his “thug” comments in referring to Ukraine President Voldomyr Zelensky, Cawthorn backpedaled a bit and confessed out loud what many of us were already thinking — that he doesn’t have “a lot of wisdom.” He was giving a speech at a Republican Men’s Club in Buncombe county when he made the statements. He also took the time to praise Newt Gingrich, as a hero and mentor.

But apparently, Gingrich didn’t get that memo. When asked about Cawthorn Gingrich denied really knowing him at all.

Very Trumpian of you, Newt.

But it isn’t surprising that the multiply-married resurrected GOP fossil would want to distance himself from all things Cawthorn, who’s been a thorn (no pun intended) in the side of the establishment GOP almost since his election. Now Cawthorn has given them just the fuel they need to further distance themselves with his sordid tales of Beltway orgies.

When he was elected in 2020, Cawthorn was seen as a rising star. He was seen by many as power-hungry and charismatic, but his actions, the accusations he made about his political rivals, and his inflammatory rhetoric would lead him to be seen more like a GOP outsider than an outlier, forming relationships with those at the bottom, not the top, of the Republican barrel.

His coming forward now may just be an attempt to save face and resurrect a rapidly declining career. Some of his own voters have tried to have him barred from running again under the 14th Amendment’s prohibition against anyone involved in an insurrection from serving in Congress. Plus, over 150 students from Patrick Henry College (where he attended for one semester before dropping out with a stellar D-average) have signed a letter in protest of his running for office. Hawthorne has also had a long — and not so favorable — reputation of being a creep with the ladies.

Katrina Kiulikas took to social media to talk of a date she went on with Cawthorn where he made repeated unwanted advances before finally getting the hint after getting her hair stuck in his wheelchair.

She was just 17.

Given the multiple accusations of sexual impropriety, his driving with a revoked license, the pictures of him fighting trees, and his praise for Hitler, being invited to a so-called “sex party” should be the last of Congressman Cawthorn’s worries.

And judging from his past, it is Cawthorn himself, rather than the Ukrainian president who better deserves the “thug” appellation.
