CONTEMPTUOUS: Freaked out Trump issues tirade after losing in court to NY AG James

Former president Donald Trump just melted down after a New York judge who held him in contempt of court upheld his ruling ordering the twice-impeached failed businessman to pay a $10,000 a day fine.

New York Attorney General Letitia James was pursuing a civil fraud case against the Trump Organization and obtained an order to compel the production of records from Donald Trump, an order which he is not obeying. In turn, New York Supreme Court judge Arthur F. Engoron held Trump in contempt of court, ordering the fine which would cost the notoriously tight-wad real estate developer a whopping $3.65 million per year if he refused to comply indefinitely.

Losing the final ruling on contempt sent the Mar-a-Lago manager into a fit of public relations rage. Since being banned from Twitter after the Jan. 6th insurrection, he uses media surrogate Liz Harrington to tweet on his behalf. She, in turn, posted an off-the-rails rant (embedded below).

Since the investigation into the Trump Organization’s finances began three years ago, Trump hasn’t been shy about his feelings for the New York Attorney General. He has called the African-American female AG a “racist” and a “failure” on multiple occasions, including not one but two Easter Sunday rants such as this one:

“Happy Easter to failed gubernatorial candidate and racist Attorney General Letitia James. May she remain healthy despite the fact that she will continue to drive business out of New York while at the same time keeping crime, death, and destruction in New York!”

In January, at a rally in Conroe, TX, the ex-president sought to incite violence against those seeking to hold him accountable while still pushing “The Big Lie.” Calling the New York investigation a “witch hunt,” he told the crowd:

“If these radical, vicious, racist prosecutors do anything wrong or illegal, I hope we are going to have in this country the biggest protest we have ever had in Washington, DC, in New York, in Atlanta or elsewhere because our country and our elections are corrupt.

While James has been looking into the financial improprieties of the Trump Organization, Trump and his children – all permanently barred from operating a charity after stealing from kids with cancer  – for three years, the investigation gained steam in January of this year. As the evidence mounted, the Office of the Attorney General released a statement, and James filed a supplemental petition with the court. It states:

“1. The Office of the Attorney General (“OAG”) is currently investigating whether the Trump Organization and Donald J. Trump (“Mr. Trump”) misstated the value of Mr. Trump’s assets on annual financial statements, tax submissions, and other documents and made other material misrepresentations provided to third parties in order to secure loans and insurance coverage and obtain other economic and tax benefits.”

“2. This investigation is being conducted pursuant to the New York Executive Law and other applicable laws. OAG has identified facts and evidence indicating that the annual financial statements, tax submissions, and other documents under investigation contain material misstatements and omissions. It intends to make a final determination about who is responsible for those misstatements and omissions. OAG requires the testimony and evidence sought herein to determine which Trump Organization employees and affiliates—and which other entities and individuals—may have assisted the Trump Organization and Mr. Trump in making, or may have relevant knowledge about, the misstatements and omissions at issue.”

Trump was given until early March to produce documents necessary for the investigation, and the deadline was extended to March 31st. He missed it, with the excuse from Trump’s legal team that they didn’t exist – or couldn’t be found.

Letitia James wasn’t buying it, asking Judge Engoron to hold Trump in contempt and fine the litigious conman $10,000 a day until the requested evidence was presented. The judge agreed, holding Trump in contempt on April 25th. Engoron said, “Mr. Trump, I know you take your business seriously, and I take mine seriously.”

For the time being, it appears NYAG Letitia James is in this for the long haul, leaving The Former Guy to yell at the clouds.

And for those waiting to finally see some accountability coming the Trump Crime Family’s way, this is a step in the right direction.
