Opinion: Does Susan Sarandon believe we should vote democracy away to achieve perfection?

Actress Susan Sarandon recently said that voting for the Democratic Party was pointless. You would think she would have learned this lesson in 2016 but nope. Thankfully we have Mary  L. Trump to call Susan out on her idiocy, which she recently did on the Meidas Touch podcast. (video embedded below)

How can anyone with liberal progressive values think that it’s pointless? People can be tired of politics and even get tired of the two-party system.

But that’s what we have going right now for the country, and it’s the Democratic Party that is still fighting for the rights of all Americans, especially on behalf of targeted groups like women, POC, and the LGBTQ+ community. As Mary L. Trump explained:

“She doesn’t know what she’s talking about, and if anybody can say with a straight face that the Democrats are the problem, I don’t know what to tell them. She was pretty decent in a couple of movies a couple of decades ago, but politically she’s a moron.”

Right now, this midterm election is probably the most critical election of our life with so much on the ballot and to sit this one out is equivalent to giving Republicans votes.

Need I remind you that Democracy is still on the ballot? Just last year, Capitol Hill was stormed by Trump supporters who Republican officials inspired.

How can anyone compare the two parties rationally?

Let’s talk about the pro-life Democratic Party.

Did Susan Sarandon not pay attention to how both parties handled the coronavirus pandemic?

Republicans fought masks and vaccine mandates that would protect people from dying, while the Democrats fought for them because the Democratic Party was a party that followed the science.

Just recently, the United States Supreme Court just pulled Roe vs. Wade, the clause that gave women’s right to privacy and to choose, because we had a Republican President appointing conservative judges to the SCOTUS.

How can anyone with a huge platform like Susan Sarandon be so dense to think that it would be pointless not to vote Democrat? Sure, she lives in New York, where Dems win easily, but a celebrity has influence and pulls that she could use to persuade people to vote blue because their rights literally depend on it.

But when the actress uses her platform to defeat the liberal values she claims to hold, the people she’s persuading are

So yes, I also agree with Mary Trump that Susan Sarandon is a moron to think voting for the Democratic Party is pointless with so much on the ballot.
