COUP-ABILITY: New Ginni Thomas emails just revealed her involvement in 2020 election conspiracy
Ginni Thomas, the wife of Conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, is once again making headlines for her involvement in efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
This is not the first time that Thomas has been in the spotlight over this issue. The public recently learned that she was in contact with former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows as the former administration baselessly challenged election results and urged them to keep at it.
On November 10th, shortly after the presidential election was called for Joe Biden, Thomas sent Meadows this text message:
“Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!!” She added: “The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.
Even after all of Trump’s efforts to overturn the election were exhausted and the January 6th rally descended into a full-blown riot in which the U.S. Capitol was defaced and several people lost their lives, Thomas seemed undeterred, texting that, “most of us are disgusted with the VP and are in a listening mode to see where to fight with our teams.” She concluded the election result marked “the end of Liberty.”
Newly released emails by the Washington Post show the extent of Thomas’ fanatical efforts to overturn the will of the American electorate. Contacting Arizona State Representatives Russell Bowers and Shawnna Bolick, Thomas encouraged both of them to “fight back against fraud” and exercise what she deemed as their constitutional authority to unilaterally and undemocratically pick electors rather than accept those chosen through election results.
“Article II of the United States Constitution gives you an awesome responsibility: to choose our state’s Electors,” she wrote to the two lawmakers on November 9th, 2020. “This responsibility is yours and yours alone,” added Thomas, and to “stand strong in the face of political and media pressure.”
A month later, Thomas emailed the Arizona lawmakers as the electoral college was poised to confirm Biden’s win, urging them to “consider what will happen to the nation we all love if you don’t stand up and lead.”
Ginni Thomas would eventually attend the January 6th rally that devolved into a full-blown violent riot at the U.S. Capitol. She maintains that she was only present for the rally and did not participate in any violence. Her husband, Justice Clarence Thomas, is being pressured to recuse himself in any cases involving investigations on the events of January 6th. While they both maintain they can keep their professional lives separate, Clarence Thomas was the only justice to dissent from a decision approving the release of Trump White House documents to a committee investigating the January 6th riots.
