SHAME: Marjorie Taylor Greene exocriated from a surprising source
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was called out for her anti-semitic rhetoric by a Republican voter from her own district while campaigning in her home state of Georgia recently. Alex Boyle, a constituent of Greene’s 14th district condemned his representative for repeating “disparaging things about the Jewish community” and “suggesting a space laser” — all things she denied saying, even when confronted with proof.
Rep. Greene was especially triggered when reporter Rick Folbaum of CBS affiliate WGCL asked the conspiracy-theory-loving congresswoman about past comments deemed offensive by many of the Jewish faith, such as whether she was concerned that statements like blaming the California wildfires on “space lasers” or insinuating the Rothschild family was involved may have played a role in Georgia’s increase in anti-semitic activity.
Greene immediately went on the offensive, telling the Folbaum:
“You’re lying right now. You’re lying. Nope…nope. You’re lying. Stop right now. You’re lying about me right now. You don’t even know what my real words are.”
When Folbaum showed her “her own words” – she tripled down on her denial.

Aside from blaming the California wildfires that destroyed over 153,336 acres and resulted in the deaths of 85 civilians on “Jewish space lasers” (Electric company PG&E’s lack of maintenance was determined to be at fault), Greene has a history of inflammatory, anti-semitic and xenophobic rhetoric that is generally disseminated through videos and posts on her Facebook page.
These include everything from alleging that the far-right march in Charlottesville – where one woman was killed and chants of “The Jews will not replace us” rang out – was an “inside job,” to calling Jewish Democratic donor George Soros a Nazi, to sharing a link to the anti-refugee, anti-Muslim, anti-Semitic video With Open Gates: The Forced Collective Suicide of European Nations – a video aimed at scaring people into believing that there is some mass plot to dilute the white population or “white genocide,” as the far-right likes to call it.
The film quotes Holocaust denier, Nick Griffin, who says an “unholy alliance of leftists, capitalists, and Zionist supremacists have schemed to promote immigration and miscegenation.” The Anti-Defamation League condemned the video saying:
“The clear aim of “With Open Gates” is to increase anti-immigrant and anti-refugee hysteria in Europe by painting refugees as invaders who are destroying European culture and society and pushing the continent to become a non-white majority.”
That same fear – and fear-mongering – is making its way to the United States. In an audit of the increase in anti-semitic activity across the Southeastern part of the country (Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina) Representative Greene’s home state had the highest – with the ADL reporting a 133% increase in anti-semitic activity, more than doubling from 21 in 2020 to 49 in 2021. Georgia’s score was also more than double that of South Carolina, with 67%.
Unsurprisingly, there has been little criticism or condemnation of Greene’s behavior by the GOP. The only memorable incident was when Greene compared wearing masks to the Holocaust, and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy released a “strongly worded” statement saying:
“Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling. The Holocaust is the greatest atrocity committed in history. The fact that this needs to be stated today is deeply troubling. At a time when the Jewish people face increased violence and threats, anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Democrat Party and is completely ignored by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Americans must stand together to defeat anti-Semitism and any attempt to diminish the history of the Holocaust. Let me be clear: the House Republican Conference condemns this language.”
While McCarthy doesn’t have the spine to stand up to Greene for everything else that she does, her constituent Alex Boyle had no problem telling the off-the-rails congresswoman just what he thinks of her. Tired of her denial and lies, Boyle forthrightly told his disappointing representative, “You’re a shame.”
Indeed she is.
